Management should be embarrassed at staff for less than par knowledge and service. We were driving from Sudbury and decided to stop in here. We had animals and wanted to order take out. We looked over the menu first, then I walked into the restaurant to order. The younger female hostess advised me to go down the hall to place our order, then take the receipt and come back to give to her to pick up the orfer. I asked before leaving if the wings are battered or naked. She was clueless and then proceeded to read the menu to me. I explained I already read it over and it doesn't advise if they're battered or naked. You would think at this point, your customer service skills would kick in and you'd ask a server or your boss. Instead, told me to plsvr my order down the hall and ask her. So I walked into the merchandise area, and asked to place a take-out order. Asking if the wings were battered or naked. Clueless she was-but she is not in the restaurant - and tells me I should ask the host. FML. So I walk back up to the restaurant, waiting for others to be seated... Then a waitress comes by to tell me it will be a moment, and I asked her. Confirming they are naked. I walked back to the merchandised area to place my order. 1 pizza, 1 Jimmy Dean burger (no onions) with a side house salad, and wings. She asked what side I want with my burger, again, House Salad. She tells me this is not an available option. She had a menu in front of her and I pointed out the exact words of it allowing a house salad. She continued to say its not avail... But a 'BrewCo' was. Asked what is on it, again, no idea and when referencing to her menu in front of her, there was no BrewCo salad. She assumed it might have changed names. She then put her elbows on the table as though defeated, when all I wanted was questions to be answered for my order. I said 'Ok, do it.' as this was getting further frustrating for everyone. I'm now ordered and 25min my food will be ready. All I need to do is take my receipt to the hostess for the order. While checking over the bill, she charged me for a burger with NO side, then changed for an additional salad? Therefore costing me more as she was not capable of entering an order properly as it should have been a burger with a side salad as the menu shows. (25 min pass). I walk in, go to the same hostess and give my receipt. She comes back to me and tells me they delivered my order to the merchandise area. WHY? she said she doesn't even know either when this is not the way they do it. Walk back to the merchandise dept, waiting in line with 4 other ppl buying items... Then I got my food. I stopped mid-way from leaving as I figured I'm sure the order won't be right. Open the bag, I see a salad, wings, burger and pizza. Yet no napkins, wet wipes or cutlery given. So AGAIN I walk myself back to the restaurant and patiently wait for anyone to give me cutlery. We drive down to the water to eat. Upon discovering that the burger had onions added to it (when it's not on the menu or my receipt) and I specifically asked for no onions on the salad as it allegedly contained them. Come on people, the copious amounts of unnecessary walking back and forth MANY times, un-knowledgeable staff, over-charging items, and just not...

The nice people at 'Witch Bay' - see separate Review - recommended I try this place as it was only a short walk away. It was a very hot week in June, late afternoon & managed to get a seat on their nice Patio (in the Sun).
I ordered a "flight" to check out what was on offer.... ....'Sultana Gold' was light & fruity but a girlies drink, ....'Somersby Cider' - very refreshing over the following hot days, ....'Firehouse Brown Ale' - nutty but better suited to an Autumn evening, ....and then the superb "BIG TIMBER" which was excellent...π₯
On several occasions, in the evening, I would order a 'Brown & Bitter' - half and half "Firehouse Timber" which raised the eyebrows of the Bar Staff but it made for a nice combination.

The internal decor was OK, clean but a bit mechanical. The long table & stools adjacent the Bar was reminiscent of a 'fast food outlet in the 1980's'. Sitting in the large, airy windows (open or closed) was the best spot.
'Ladies Night', on a Thursday, was a 'hoot' to watch from a respectable distance.

Over my five day stay it became a second home... I found the service good, the Bartenders a little "aloof & lackadaisical" at times....π€
As for the food there is definately room for improvement.... eg:- the topping on the 'Veggie Flatbread' could at least cover the bread.... ....the 'Chicken Caesar Wrap' was nice but a little bland.... ....the 'Butter Chicken Poutine' - my favourite - is a nice alternative, the chicken was succulent BUT the gravy - Ooh Please give it some life !!!
π€π€...SUGGESTION... π€π€
'Butter Chicken' is an Indian, Punjabi dish introduced after Independence in the late 1940's. As with most Indian dishes flavour is from the masala OR gravy. I have no idea what spices yours contain but please try adding - NOT CHILLI (that's boring) - but a 'Garam Masala'. These can be purchased 'on line' BUT it's better to make it yourself using a mixture of just 5/6 dry roasted, blended spices.
π€...PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY...π€
Places like this did NOT exist 22 years ago when I last made a similar trip...π©π©
In no way could this be considered an intimate or cozy place. There is room for improvement BUT, overall,.....
π²...BY FAR THE BEST PLACE...π² TO VISIT IN...
Β Β Β Read moreI expected to come in, have some lunch and maybe do a tasting flight since I'm not familiar with their beer. But had kind of a disappointing experience. Two stars for food and atmosphere. Came at lunch, which I understand is a busy time and all but when I asked if they had room to seat one the hostesses looked at me like I had three noses. I said I don't mind waiting, and they just kind of stood there not knowing what to do with me but also not looking to see if they had room at the bar or something, just saying they had tables of three or four waiting ahead of me but also not offering for me to wait (which I would have happily done). One of them eventually took me to the second floor bar and I asked the bartender to see a list of what beer they were serving. They didn't have a list with descriptions, which seems odd for a brewery wanting to sell their own brews. I was offered only three kinds that they had on tap on the second floor, just names... no descriptions. No idea what was in them. Three people working there and I felt like an inconvenience just for wanting to know what I was ordering. Eventually they slapped down in front of me a hand written list of names on a piece of paper, still just names...so I asked for them to come back to me when they had a moment to explain them to me. Finally one of the bartenders came back and riffed them off super fast. Apparently there were more than three but the rest were served downstairs and I guess they didn't want to have to go downstairs during such a busy time of day so they weren't offered to me right off the bat. Watched other customers come in and only be offered the three options. Later, I went into the store to see what they had so I could take some away with me. Everything is behind the counter in a cooler, or in back...hard to see what's available. Again... She couldn't show me a list anywhere and was a little impatient because there were people waiting behind me to pay for merch. Left...
