I grew up in Kenora and I remember when the Chip Truck was really a truck. The owner would drive it home and back every night. He filled up each night at the gas station I worked at as a teenager. In those days, you not only filled up the gas but checked the oil and fluids and tire pressure. The Chip Truck guy always tipped me with a big bag of French fries, like a big paper grocery bag-sized bag of fries. I was really surprised that they still seem to continue the tradition of never replacing the fryer oil, just topping it off. That's why they're so dark and stormy. The best French fries in Canada, hands down, and you have to have them with salt and vinegar. There's no ketchup or gravy or even pepper so don't ask. Just enjoy them.

Great fries. We always get them with salt and vinegar and make sure to stop in Kenora when passing by for them (if they are open). There are 3 locations now in Kenora and they seem to have different hours for each one so make sure to check before you go. Cash only but an ATM is available for a fee

It wasn't the crispy kind but not soggy either. Definitely worth a try with the salt and vinegar dressing. I never liked potato chips with this dressing but the fries with this combo dressing was just great.

๐ŸŸ...A SIGHT FOR SORE EYES...๐ŸŸ AND SUPER FRIES

Having left the Great Lakes behind me and.... ....after a six hour, 500km drive through changing, beautiful forested landscape & hundreds of small lakes I arrive in Kenora to find this.....

๐Ÿ˜...."HEAVEN ON WHEELS"....๐Ÿ˜

Right on the Highway and smack bang in the middle of the so-called 'City' (๐Ÿ˜€..haha..๐Ÿ˜…)

The truck serves fries only..... .....BUT WHAT FRIES.....๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ Golden crispy on the outside, deliciously fluffy on the inside.

They were that good I had a second portion there & then....๐Ÿท ๐Ÿท

๐ŸŸโ™ป๐ŸŸโ™ป๐ŸŸโ™ป๐ŸŸโ™ป๐ŸŸโ™ป๐ŸŸโ™ป๐ŸŸ

Several times I walked past over the weekend & there was almost always a "line up"......๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ’•

I'm salivating just writing this Review.

โœ”...SURPRISE - SURPRISE.......

I LUV โค๏ธ fries - and for almost 60 years have been making the trip to Ye Olde Chip Truck everytime I am in proximity to Kenora. Unfortunately, I have found the product quality slipping in the last few years. Far too many small slivers of dry fried peel displacing the "full size fries" I craved in my last 3 X-Large orders - most recent today. (Appx 40% slivers) In my opinion, simple sorting/culling and closer attention to the final product could solve this problem and deliver a quality taste experience like in "the good Olde days". Maybe it is time to look for an alternative taste...
