Read moreOh where to start. Homer Watson Park absolutely has my heart. After moving to the KW area a year ago, away from family and friends, I discovered this park within the first couple of weeks. It immediately felt like home. I come here often and I’ve loved watching how the park changes as the seasons change. My favourite so far has been autumn, the colour of the leaves were breathtaking, like something out of a movie. The park is always well kept, garbage bins available at a couple area’s along the trail. I love the option of staying on a paved trail or going off that trail into the forest area and following a dirt trail, which can be quite strenuous and a great workout. (Keep in mind, the dirt trails are not maintained during the winter and can get quite slippery so proceed with caution). There are also several other small side trails along the way. There are wooden benches and picnic tables at certain areas that allow you to relax and enjoy the nature and beauty surrounding you. Lastly, there are a couple different parking lots along the length of the trail so parking has never been an issue for me. Overall I can’t say enough great things about this park and I highly recommend for a long walk, short walk, picnic with friends or a place to read your book by the...

I went on January 14, 2023, the day after we received a decent amount of snow...over the course of the day, some of the snow had melted into ice but then immediately refroze....
...so when I got to the park (by way of the trail off of Wabanaki) it was MAGICAL!!!
EVERY little twig and branch had either big puffs of snow or glistening ice...and with the first real sunshine day of 2023, everything was lit up and shining like a billion diamonds and jewels.
My photos don't do it justice.
There's a small parking area off of Wabanaki and another small parking area at the entrance and one more small parking area a bit further down. Beautiful view over the river. Main trail is paved (so even people in wheelchairs or with walkers can go) but then there are dozens of secondary trails that veer off.
I will 100% be back to this park and recommend...
