Super happy they opened up at markville! And loved the setup of this location with the cafe being right at the entrance and not having to walk through the entire tire to the back like at vaughan mills (which they also have a separate exterior entrance at the vaughan mills location). But if you’re going to aritzia, it’s also super easy to access!
Ordered a couple non caffeinated drinks the first time around and then a latte the next time I came. The non caffeinated selection is small, but super aesthetic that you will want to order a different one every time!
Had the purple pop latte and the sunset lemonade. The purple from the ube is a really nice colour and the sunset lemonade is also aesthetic with the layering of colours! Totally gonna do well when you’ve done your shopping in the mall and just need that little bit of refreshment.
The latte was nicely done. You get just enough of that hit of espresso taste without it being overpowering or lingering on your palate. Plus it was really smooth.
Service wasn’t much as you’d order and pick up, but they’re super quick and efficient which is nice! Considering the consistent quality of the drinks too. The other plus, no need to go into those long starbies and Tim’s lines anymore!
Great job overall!

Read moreWas really looking forward to trying this cafe because of how aesthetically pleasing they look but unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience. We ordered our drinks (chai and vanilla latte) which tasted pretty good. However, the server let us know when she bought our drinks to us that the cafe was laptop free. My problem with this is, there was no sign anywhere that said this was their policy and it was only told to us when we were being served our drinks (after purchasing). My partner had some work to do and if we had known, we would have went somewhere else. Then came back another day. Also the table next to us had a big tablet out and was playing tv out loud. so I personally think that is more of a disturbance. I went up to ask if they allowed tablets and the server rolled her eyes and said yes. I just don’t quite understand why they allow big tablets but not laptops. I think they should have a sign somewhere that states this policy so it is clear...
Read moreJust a heads up—this is a laptop-free cafe.
I stopped by A-OK Cafe thinking it’d be a nice spot to grab a coffee, a croissant, and get some work done on my laptop. I ordered at the counter, sat down, and pulled out my laptop while waiting for my drink.
When the barista brought over my coffee, she told me about the laptop-free policy. There was no sign or mention of it before I ordered, which was surprising. What made it even more awkward is that the cafe wasn’t busy at all—there were 3 or 4 empty tables around me.
She then said to let her know if I wanted my order to go, which felt a bit like a polite way of asking me to leave. Maybe I’m being sensitive, but the whole interaction felt a little cold and unwelcoming.
The place is cute and the food was ok, but if there’s a laptop policy, it really should be clear upfront—not after you’ve...
