OAK + FORT — Attraction in Markham

I walked into the store after 5pm on a busy Thursday evening looking for a few items to try in store. Upon arrival I was met with excellent customer service. Ishita was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end during my time at the store. She was patient and had a positive attitude the entire time I was there. She is one of the most helpful individuals I had ever had the pleasure of meeting as she was attentive with all my needs. She was also great at multitasking as she was providing great customer service to others as well. She had placed an order for me as the sweater I had wanted was not available in store. Ishita had set up my profile as I needed the item shipped to my house. While in store, I was also interested in the oversized trench coat however they didn’t have the size and colour available in store. I had left and twenty minutes later, I received a call from Ishita informing me that she had found the size and colour I had wanted at the back room. I was delighted! Ishita went above and beyond despite the fact that I had already left. Most people would not have even bothered to do what she did yet she was still thoughtful enough to think of a customer who had already left. As I can’t say enough, Ishita was absolutely amazing! Never in my life do I ever bother to give reviews for customer service until today. My experience with her was very positive and I believe she deserves public recognition. Her professionalism and customer service was outstanding and I believe oak & fort is very lucky to have someone like her representing the company. I went to this store to return an item, unworn, with the tags on, just one day after receiving it in the mail and was denied the return without any explanation. When I asked the cashier—who identified herself as the store manager— if I could speak to a manger, she rudely told me "I could email customer service if I had an issue." I then asked for her full name or employee ID to reference in my complaint, and she refused, saying I could only have her first name: Michelle.

On top of this, I was asked 4 times why I was returning my item and given attitude from the moment I stepped in and asked to make a return. I was then told I could exchange the product but not return it. This confused me as I don't understand what difference this would make if the problem was with the item itself being returned.

From the reviews below and personal experience, it seems that the only time positive customer service is provided is when you are purchasing an item.

I will no longer be shopping at Oak and Fort as there is always some issue with completing returns and their return policy in general and hope the company learns how to train their staff on their customer service, communication skills and basic etiquette.

Oak + Fort is one of my favourite places to shop. The clothes are trendy, great quality and reasonable priced. This was my first time at the Markville location and I cannot say enough great things about their associate Jasman as this will now be the main location I will choose to shop due to her kindness and expertise. Jasman was super attentive, made great recommendations for outfits and made me feel valued as a customer by retrieving different sizes and outfits when I was in the change room. For items that were not available she assured me there was no problem to order them and eased my mind by ensuring I would have them in time for my trip. I went into the store looking for an outfit or two and came out with a whole collection of outfits due to her suggestions on certain items I would never think to try but ended up being very flattering on me. What I loved most was she showed passion for the products, her job and was very genuine with her customer service which is difficult to find these days.
