There is a most unprofessional and rudest security guy you will find at this mall. I got detained by this guy in the pic for 2 hours just because I used the escalator
On around 6:30pm May4, 2024, me and my 4 year old child got harassed and bullied by him. I had stroller and used the escalator, one security asked me not to use it. When I asked his name, he asked me not to bother myself and followed me. Then I told him not to bother me, he called the guy in the pic to come. Right away this guy came yelling at my back with non stop and was very disrespectful. He ask me to "stop your shiiit" as soon as he stood in front of me. However I didn't say the same language back to him. (Later on he lied to the management that I made a scene swearing at him first with bad language that was why he did all that to me. But the fact was he was the one who made a big scene with his foul language and bully at the very beginning). He also talked a lot nonsense like he is the boss of the store and could do whatever he wanted to. He was very aggressive with zero physical distance, and threatened me he would use physical force. There was an OLD lady there watching but he picked her and asked the lady to go away and shut up. Then I took out my phone to record and that was when he backed off. I told him that I would call the police if he hit me. So he called the police himself first. During the waiting for the police, he followed me every step and restricted my movement. My child got very scared by him and cried. I told him that I wanted to go to the food court as my child was very hungry, he rejected and put his foot on the wheel of the stroller. He also didn't allow me to leave the mall and kept preventing me going to the food court.
He kept telling me that he wanted to arrest me ( he had no ground for it). When the police came, he lied to the police lots to get away with his misconduct. When the police asked him why he didn't allow me to the food court, he lied that he asked me to leave the mall many times but I didn't, so he had to stop me since I was a trespasser. And He was the one who stopped me leaving the mall. The truth was, he wanted to bully a vulnerable woman with a child to show he had "power" (he also bullied the old lady). He also lied to the police that he didn't arrest me b/c he didn't want my child to see it. But he begged the police to arrest me . Funny enough ,if the police arrested me, my child wouldn't see me? The real reason why he detained me was because he was afraid I would leave so that the police wouldn't give me a charge as he wished. And that was why he didn't allow me to go to the food court as there is an exit on the other side. However, I also called the police as he couldn't stop yelling at me and stalking me. But he was too afraid the police couldn't find me. There are many other details to tell how...
Read morePacific Mall is the largest Asian mall in North America. It was vibrant and bustling with businesses and people pre-pandemic. It is the only tourist destination that is allowed to stay open 365 days in a year including holidays. The pathways within the mall has its own street name and it mimics the street names from Hong Kong.
This place used to be the epicentre for counterfeit goods like clothes, handbags, and bootlegged DVDs. The Toronto Police had a massive crackdown on those illegitimate businesses and now it's pretty much non existent.
Next door, Market Village was torn down to make way for a new mall extension, but there are numerous construction delays so it remains empty.
This is a place to go for Bubble tea, Fishballs, Cellphone cases, Laptop covers, Haircut, Manicure and Pedicure nails salons, Housewares, Eye Glasses, Snacks from Asia, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Baked Goods, Asian paintings and decorations, Chinese restaurants, Asian inspired jewelry, etc.
On the 2nd floor is Heritage Town. This is where one can find the food court, Terracotta Warriors, the Emperor's Chair, the Wooden Bridge, the Medical Center, several Hair Salons and an indoor video gaming room. Don't forget to buy the eggs waffles. I bet you can smell it before you see it. Or you can try the ice cream sandwich wrap.
At the centre of the mall is an indoor stage where numerous televised festivities took placed. There are several recognizable Telecom businesses onsite for those who want a new cellphone.
There is ample parking spaces both indoor and outdoor. There is at least 2 banks on the premises. Washrooms are located in the basement.
Tour buses would come pickup passengers daily either from the mall to Niagara Falls Casino and vice versa. There were several short term day trips to choose from. These buses go to different cities within Canada and the USA. This service was halted during the pandemic.
Pacific Mall is located at the edge of Scarborough and Markham. It's accessible by the GO train, TTC and York Region Transit.
1st three photos were taken during the pandemic, July 2021. The next 8 photos were taken during December 2021. The rest were...
Read moreCame here with my service dog, who unfortunately injured her paw in the mall. It is in no way the mall's fault and in fact, when the cleaning staff saw me trying to staunch her bleeding, they were so kind and compassionate and brought me what they could to help. We were leaving and my partner was actually carrying my service animal as we noticed she was still bleeding and leaving blood on the floor, when we were approached my two security personnel.
They demanded to see my service dog's ID.
There is no such thing in Ontario. Other than guide dogs for the blind, there is no certification process, no official identification process, nothing like that in Ontario.
They insisted that the property managers "require service dogs to have IDs to be allowed". I pulled up the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and showed them the paragraph indicating that IDs are not required. I told them I have my medical documentation, which is the only document required. They insisted that I need to show them an ID for my dog, as this is "private property" and so we had to follow their rules.
Nope. You are a private property that is open to the public and therefore you must follow ONTARIO'S LAWS.
I want to be clear: my service animal was behaving well within the standards for public access for a service animal. She was not causing any kind of disturbance and besides her being a dog in a mall, she was barely even noticeable.
While I do not fault the security personnel for doing their jobs, they were insisting we showed them an ID for my service animal who was VISIBLY BLEEDING and being carried out. We weren't even hanging out in the mall anymore. And the fact that they "require ID" which literally does not exist is making is near impossible for any other service dog handler to come in with their...
