Montreal Échappe-Toi — Attraction in Montreal

BEWARE!

Bought a ticket right before the pandemic hit. They sent an email stating they would refund me. They never did. I emailed them again and kept getting promises for a refund, just for it to never appear in my account. They ended up closing because of COVID, leaving me refundless.

After a couple of months they reopened. I kept emailing them and calling just to be told that this time they willl refund me forsure and to just wait a couple of business days . They said they refunded me, to wait 10 business days, I wait the 10 business days which turned into months because they ended up closing again right after the wait window was up. The same thing happened AGAIN. It felt intentional.

When they reopened a second time, I called again just to be promised the same thing, to no avail. I grew frustrated with being lied to and having my time wasted.

Eventually, after calling a few more times, I believe they got annoyed with hearing me and finally issued a refund, A YEAR AND A HALF LATER.

The owner tried to be sincere and promised me free tickets but never sent them my way..... He was trying to be nice which I appreciate, but after all the time and energy put in to get a refund, I lost faith in their words. And look at that, he didnt fulfill that promise either. just a horrible experience overall.

I know it was COVID time but the constant lies and waste of my time was truly disrespectful. I had to fight for my refund or else they would have...

We recently played in one of their escape rooms "Tempus Evadere", and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. While I understand not being provided with a walkie-talkie, I was concerned that the host did not help manage the game flow smoothly, we ended up stuck on the same puzzle for about 30 minutes, which resulted in a lot of wasted of time because we did not receive timely assistance.

Additionally, the instructions given before the game were confusing. We were told not to use force in case anything breaks, or no need to look above our eye-level to find clues, yet several puzzles required both actions. This making us hesitant and unsure of how to proceed. For example, in order to open the door for next room, it actually requires the player to pull the rope quite hard, the single rope looks very fragile so we pulled with small force and then stopped there. Since we are keeping in mind all the warnings we got before starting the game, this made us confused and made us hesitant because we were afraid of breaking something. And this made us missed the next room completely.

Overall, these confusions ultimately prevented us from fully enjoying the experience and led to an overall...

Very friendly staff and nice looking place. Moving around the offices to get to the room is quite weird. They work on the immersion aspect with the scenario which is off to a fun start. The room was very simple and lacked the details to make yourself feel locked in a real room. We did the alpatraz scenario. It was overall disappointing because of how uninspired the puzzles were. They consisted of trying all the keys and codes on all locks with no rhyme or reason until you find the corresponding lock. They were very easy except for one, which broke the fun we had on the activity. There is a small chest which locks down for over 5 minutes over 3 tries. This means you have your whole group standing around waiting for the lock to reset. Waiting for half an hour for locks to reset in-between tries is boring, especially in a timed activity. The lack of support when signaling this on the 3 instances the game Master came over...
