Aquinta — Restaurant in Montreal

It's rare that I give a 5 for anything so I gave it really top marks for what it is: an unpretentious restaurant serving food at a reasonable price. The servers are always energetic, friendly and put up with my sketchy grandpa jokes. The food is what you expect and the portions are very generous. Yesterday we ordered soup for two of our guests but the other portions were so good and large that everybody forgot that we had ordered them. Half the time I order the octopus/squid dish it is good but the other half the time the octopus is extraordinarily tender with all the great taste a Portuguese grill. So the cooking is not consistent but it is good to extraordinary which is fair for the price of the meal. And if you do go for the octopus, don't watch or think about the movie ''My Octopus Teacher'' before you go there. Amazing local restaurant you must go!

I highly recommend you make a reservation. We just found this place on google so we had to walk in. They had no system for putting names/numbers down, no waiting list either so you have to wait there with the entire group hoping some table will leave soon.

It was friday night and we waited about 20-30min, not a bad wait time since we were just two.

All of their food were amazing and also the Portuguese white wine that the owner recommended was just great pairing well with our food.

Their sea-bass was excellent. Their octopus and calamari dish was amazing too.

Price range is great too!! So happy to see a place where they dont over price things. We will definitely come back and recommend to our Toronto friends.

I went multiple time and food was very good. But recently everything changed. The service became bad and the food as well. First incident, I was alone and was seated in a table for two. After like 20 mins of waiting to order, the waited come to me and told me that the restaurant is busy and I need to go sit in the bar area. Took my order and forgot about me. After 50 mins another waited asked me if I ordered. I told him I was waiting. They apologized because they lost my order (strange). Then the food came and was bad. The second incident, they brought us half cooked chicken. It was clear that it was rushed and we got sick because of the raw meat. The waited said we are not paying for that and I still tipped out of curtoisy. I don't thing I will ever set...
