Easy little loop walk. If you take your time it's about 30-40 minutes. You can possibly see some wildlife and it is a good spot for birdwatching. Paths are easy to follow and level so it is very accessible for all. There are a few benches and look out points along the path. Parking off the Bowen side can get full so you may have to park up the street when entering from that side. There is a port -a-potty on the Third Street side.

Beautiful park for observing wildlife, particularly for birdwatching. We have also seen deer, raccoons, squirrels, and beaver. The trail around the marsh is flat so really good for those with mobility issues. It is very family friendly, but do stay on the trail. Bring your camera or binoculars, or relax with a book on one of the many benches. It's a real gem in the middle of the city.

Nice place to walk that is dog and bike free. Very peaceful. Takes about 20 to 30 minutes to do the whole loop. Lots of wildlife to look for, birds, beavers, turtles, and more. Flat trail, easy walk for all abilities.

WARNING! NOT PET FRIENDLY! Drove across town to find this out. There are Karens community policing the area. I got verbally attacked by an angry troll. Ended up walking on a busy street. With the Karens & their lack of common sense, it was an unpleasant experience. Providing better signage explaining why a paved urban walk doesnt allow leashed pets would be helpful. If reasoning is to protect wildlife & nature, not letting leashed pets in one area will not stop the destruction mankind has sown on mother nature. The Karens are too short sighted to realize this and think they are saving the world by stopping ppl who are enjoying their lives while harming no person...

This is a beautiful spot right in the centre of Nanaimo. The marshland ecosystem is really one of a kind. There is always so much unique flora and fauna to see. It's right off the parkway (turn off at the first Jingle Pot Rd. exit if you are headed north) and makes a perfect stop if you're headed up island. The short 2km gravel trail is very flat, and can be enjoyed by young children and those with mobility challenges. Be sure to visit the viewing platforms for a superb view...

Beautiful park. Easy loop that have tons of entry and exit points. I started my walk at the ice skating rink, followed the trail and it led me to Buttertubs.

Good place to do bird watching. Lots of birds especially when it's sunny. It is a good idea to bring camera with good lenses or binoculars.

Ideal for stroller too.

I haven't done duck feeding, but I'm thinking of trying or I'll check out first if it is possible.

I saw deer and heron along the trails.

I love how quiet...
