Just a hop from Niagara Falls, Dufferin Islands is the whimsical hideaway you didn’t know you needed. This oasis of mini islands and charming footbridges feels like a nature playground, complete with cheeky squirrels and birds that could star in their own musical. Wander the winding trails, cross the quaint bridges, and find perfect picnic spots hidden among the trees. The ducks here are practically locals, waddling up to say hello—just remember they’re on a strict diet! You also have carps looking at you from the water. With serene ponds, gentle streams, and a playful spirit, Dufferin Islands is where Mother Nature lets her hair down. It’s a refreshing, little escape that’s perfect for a quick adventure. So next time you’re near Niagara, skip the crowds and embrace the playful charm of Dufferin Islands. It’s nature’s way of winking at you.

One thing I wanted to mention about Niagara, mainly the falls area if you have the option to BBQ in the park do so ... I was hard pressed to find a decent place to eat that you could walk into without a reservation ... And honestly people had tables booked a month to two months in advance ... Even trying to find a last minute wine tour anywhere in NOTL turned out to be an effort in futility ... But the good news is that you can literally book a helicopter ride the day before and see all the falls, Canadian and American, and the Niagara River which is an experience in its own ... Oh and if you enjoyed it as much as me and my wife and come come back two weeks later to take the girls on a helicopter ride you get $100 off the second time ... Cheers

Dufferin Islands is such a great little hidden spot. It’s literally a 4 minutes drive from the falls. Me and my family come here often to get away from the busy areas in Niagara Falls to enjoy lunch or dinner. They have picnic tables with some bbq areas. They have a few trails throughout the park to enjoy. A public washroom that is usually quite clean. There’s wildlife such as geese and ducks to enjoy also. In the Winter, it does have a Christmas lights display as well. It’s free but donations are always appreciated to help towards the next years display. They have paid parking, but the area is otherwise free to enjoy. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy your takeout while in the Falls, this is the place to go.
