"A vast park at the edge of the universe..." is perhaps what I felt when I saw it, because it is a peninsula (or practically one).
With so much property, so close to the falls, there must be more than one developer wistfully imagining how they would build it up should rezoning laws change.
Considering the ruggedness of the river and the fall it would be desirable if it were to be renaturalized with native plants, shrubs and trees. Seagulls and Canada Geese have already reclaimed it. As it is, it's so much flat acreage with the occasional tree, benche and the likes. And ample parking.
Perhaps festivals, school events and family reunions take place here. Otherwise it's people looking for a quiet destination.
For families is search of cheaper parking and willing to drop the family off, park and jog back to them or take the bus, this is also an option.
There's an edge of the world vibe at sunset, wonderful vistas and the rush of water.

Read moreBeautiful park by the Niagara River just before the falls. It has lots of parking spaces, benches. There are trees for shade and also bathrooms for men and women. It is not open year-round but summer time it is a nice picnic spot. You can bring your own bbq. There is a huge gazibo and best of all there is beautiful walking trail near the river. You can walk to the falls. There is a water park for the small children and the parking is ten dollars during the summer during off school time otherwise it is free.Update 2022, now they have placed those machines for your parking tickets means it is not free anymore and you have to pay and display the ticket on your dash.
