You’ve seen the Falls but there’s always more for the Niagara region to offer. About 20 minutes east of the falls, there’s an abundance of activities including this well maintained, moderate trail! The metal stair structure is the only entrance and exit to the trail system. The trail system is very clearly marked. Lots of stone steps to pave large portions of the trail (moderately steep). Views include: the Niagara River all along the River trail, large rocks and boulders (need a bouldering permit to climb), lush forest, and a variety of birds. We went on a Wednesday that was forecasted to rain in the afternoon and lucked out with no rain. Abundance of parking spaces around 11-2pm. Washrooms beside the nature center are partially closed (as of writing). Bring enough water with you and carry your trash out; there are garbage and recycling bins located right at the top of the stairs!

Beautiful trail along the river. As others have said there are many rocks and tree roots and would not be great for those with mobility challenges. Definitely more of a touristy trail than others I've visited in the area, but the majority of people were great about sharing the trail. Take a picture of the map before you go down the stairs and it's fairly easy to navigate. I think the challenge is there are many offshoots where people often wander off trail and since they don't use traditional trail markings, only little pictographs, at times it's not clear which way is the actual trail. You can see the whirlpool jet boats going by and lots of great spots for pictures. A recommendation for the park is to post how long each section of trail takes so you have a better idea how long to purchase parking since it's pay in advance by the hour.

An open area overlooking the gorge, with paid parking, an information Center, washrooms, a pavilion, a grassy area with Chairs and a nice place to do BBQ with friends and family. It’s a great place to walk along if you want to enjoy the view from bottom near the lake floating. You can hike down to the gorge. The water is a beautiful green-blue colour, with an amazing rock wall and greenery overlooking it. It is a somewhat easy hike, but don’t forget to carry on water bottles and hike shoes there are some slippery stones on walk way. If you did choose to fish down there, you can catch massive fish like salmon and lake trout. However, there are rapids and you would most likely be fishing from a big, flat rock that is partially submerged in water, so you have to be extremely cautious.

The water is a beautiful green-blue colour, with an amazing rock wall and greenery overlooking it. It is a somewhat difficult hike, especially if you are carrying a lot of stuff (like fishing gear). If you did choose to fish down there, you can catch massive fish like salmon and lake trout. The hike ends with lots of uphill walking, so bring water and pace yourself.

This is a beautiful walking trail with fantastic views for forests, rock formations, and the Niagara River. Although you can walk your dog down the trail, there are metal grating stairs in a few locations which are not friendly to smaller pawed dogs. I had to carry my dog up and down these stairs (one set of stairs was about 4 stories tall). There are spots that may be of interest to people who boulder. Also, please note that a good sense of balance is required in a few sections. Overall, I would recommend the trail for its views, however, please take caution given the above.

Right now is the perfect time for hiking! My partner, our dog, and I went on an adventure on the Niagara Glen Trail right from Toronto. We parked at the front and went down the main loop trail. It is amazing how you can walk through huge rocks and then come down to the water. The trail is not difficult, and you can take as many breaks as you want. The main trail follows the river and offers the most amazing views. I would suggest bringing water and some snacks with you and going to the washroom before starting the hike.
