Helicopters? What helicopters LOL! I half expected Lt. Col. Bill Kilgore to land on the green and say “I love the smell of grass in the morning” Besides the non stop air traffic which bugged the one person I played with but didn’t annoy me, this course is an excellent challenge and in excellent shape, especially the greens. Why? Well there are very lonnnnnng par threes (I played Blue tees), very tight fairways and very fast greens and some very tricky approach shots thanks to water and sand - Love this kind of hardcore stuff on a gold course. The pace of play was ok except for the guys ahead who didn’t know or couldn’t fathom the concept of “ready golf” especially when on the green (you don’t need five minutes to put out, that’s just sad and silly, our group was on and off in about a minute). Now there was a Marshall but perhaps he didnt feel a need to speed these guys up which was ok with me (this time) because I was enjoying the course. The price is very reasonable and the tuna sandwich from the cart concession was the best I’ve ever had in a long while. Also there is a very cool sight awaiting you on the second last Par 3 (I think) which you will have to see for yourself. Unfortunately this course is too far away for me to play regularly and the traffic from Toronto to Niagara Falls is heinous and a big deterrent. But I would recommend this course to anyone - just beware of the LZ because Charley don’t...
Read moreI know this is the signature course for the Niagara region and I must say I was a wee bit disappointed in my experience. I was looking forward to playing here with my son since the last time I was here was over 20 yrs ago. I'll start off with the tee decks and say they were good and short because some courses are starting to leave then a little long. Next are the fairways, pretty good if you dont mind the clover growing with what looks like 3 different kinds of grass. What I mean is, that there were 3 different shades of green which for appearances wasn't the best. The greens were the same thing as the fairways. 3 shades of green and a little slow on the stimp meter(if I had one). They weren't as rolled as I would have expected for the price I was paying. But they weren't the worst. I played Battlefield the previous day and can only surmise that that is more where the bulk of the money is going. Finally, for the price, as other reviews I've read regarding the price. In my opinion, the price is way too much, almost 80$ with a cart. There are plenty courses around for that price which are in better shape. But then they have as I'm sure their clientele is mostly tourists. Was I overwhelmed? No. Was I dissatisfied? Mildly. Will I play it again? Not until my son has a...
Read moreI played in a tournament here on August 10 2025 and wont be back. The course was great but some of the staff were very rude. Most groups in our tournament will say the same thing. It was borderline harassment at the most part.
When we registered we were all told about the rules in a group. We then Drove over to the starter booth and we got another lecture on the rules of the course, pace a play and stuff like that. Then we drove our cart Over to the first tee off and we were staying there doing exactly what we were supposed to be doing. Waiting for the next group to get on the green. All of a sudden, the starter from the booth comes way out on the tee off and lectures us again. I told him that I have been playing golf for 45 years and I know all about the rules and pace of play. He continued to lecture us and gave us the death stare from his booth.
After nine holes, we came to the clubhouse like we were supposed to do to get our meal on the go. We get there and we get lectured by another Staff member about pace of play and to eat and go. I dont mind rules and I abide by them but I dont like to be harassed in doing so.
Anyway I just wanted to come to your course and enjoy myself but your staff had other things on their minds i...
