Visited last summer, you can tell it is a well-kept place from the entrance. Upon entering, was nicely greeted by the front desk lady. The volunteer there was a nice older gentleman (forgot his name) who offered my bf and I a tour and guided us around the whole place literally, from the first display to the last, as well as the planes on display outside that they were preparing for an exhibition. He was super knowledgeable and passionate, which made the visit one of a kind and really worth it, as compared to if we had just walked around on our own. (Thank you so much for the tour!) The museum itself is equipped with tons of displays, models, and more that you can interact with. Overall, was a really fun and enjoyable experience. Is a good place to visit if you are looking for a fun activity. 10/10 would recommend to go at least once, but probably won't go for the second time as your first visit is sufficient unless you are passionate about aviation as they will have different displays on rotation.

This Aviation Museum is a gem and often overlooked as a great place to take kids and family, or recommend to tourists. You can easily spend a few hours absorbing the history of local aviation, Canadian Airforce, history and personalities that have flown, given service or simply been key factors in the changing landscape of flight in BC (and Canada). There are huge planes, historic planes, models of planes, mockups of planes, pieces of planes, displays of history, mechanics, personalities, models... You can touch some displays, climb into others, watch videos, play games, read histories.... There's a gift shop with a great library of books, decals, and memorabilia. But the best part of the museum is the staff and volunteers; from all the people who volunteer during their open house in August, to the men and women who show up daily to work on restoring aircraft, give interesting tours or greet visitors at the entrance, they are all engaging and wonderful people who make the museum come alive.

With its impressive collection of aircraft and artifacts, this museum provides a fascinating glimpse into the development of aviation technology and the role it has played in shaping the region. In addition to the remarkable aircraft on display, the BC Aviation Museum boasts an extensive collection of artifacts and interactive exhibits that immerse visitors in the world of aviation. The museum is also dedicated to honoring the men and women who have served in the Canadian Forces, featuring a memorial wall as a touching tribute. Whether you're an aviation enthusiast or simply curious about the history of flight, the BC Aviation Museum is an interesting destination, leaving you with a newfound appreciation for the marvels of aviation.

Not entirely sure…. But last 10 years or so ago, when I went there I thought it was by donation. But I guess they do charge for entrance now. Nothing really wrong with it. Was just a little shocked but the lady was wonderful enough to let my kid/s go in to play in the kids area (I believe I something new) together with my aunt and wife without charging them. I did pay for my dad, bro and my tickets to go in and experience the place!! Which is very lovely! I love how they arranged all the planes and have miniature on some where can’t be displayed live due to space constraint. They have a bunch of history all around! Very nice place to visit for sure! On top of it all, they kept the whole place neat! Keep it up guys! My whole family had fun there, hope to go back there soon!

As an enthusiast of European aviation history, a lot of Canadian aviation history is brand new to me, and I love walking around the hangars and learning new things about BC's aviation history and the origins of the airport I now frequently fly from. It's also refreshing to be able to walk right up to and look inside the excellently maintained aircraft; too often at other museums, you're kept on the wrong side of a rope and miss out on experiencing the smell and feel of being up close to the aircraft, not the case here! Perfect way to get my aircraft fix for when YYJ's socked-in; have had some great chats with the enthusiastic, knowledgeable staff and volunteers. (the Norseman and Viscount out back are my favourites)

Visiting this museum it is hard to believe that until this past year this organization was entirely volunteer run! It is incredible to see how productive the volunteers have been to create such an amazing display of aircraft, artifacts and hands on exhibits. Looking forward to seeing where this museum goes next with much talked about and anticipated arrival of famous Hawaiian Mars water bomber from Coulson. It is also impressive to watch their group of volunteers continue to restore the Lancaster bomber over the past several months. Most days you can drop by and get a personal tour of this restoration as it progresses.
