I know, I know, most of my ratings are between 4 stars and 5, however most people think of 4 and 5 stars as positive, if I said 3 you may have thought it was dirty or had bad customer service but this isnt the case with Cypress mountain. Cypress mountain is an average ski resort exempt the few stand out qualities that take it a little beyond your average idea and I'd like to focus on those. The sky chair, while a little scary, takes you to the top of the mountain to find amazing views and good intermediate runs down, do not miss the sky chair. Whilst up there myself I found a blue run at the beginning of a green run of which the name escapes me, it was the first blue I ever tried and I found by doing it twice I was already prepared for all the other blue runs, therefore the skill progression of each run is very well made and favours the new. Finally the main lodge with the rentals, and shops, have great tasting food, imagine fast food but without the unhealthy feeling and you have the cypress cafeteria (the layout looks a lot like a local bc ferries whitespot and a food court mixed together). 4 stars, if your in the area and debating where to ski, it WILL NOT hurt to try...

Mahon Park is a popular green space located in North Vancouver. The park is known for its beautiful natural surroundings and recreational opportunities. The park features a wide variety of trails, both paved and unpaved, that are suitable for walking, biking, and running. The trails wind through the park's lush forests and offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and water. In addition to its trails, Mahon Park also has a number of other amenities and attractions, including a playground, a sports field, and a picnic area. The park is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, and it is a great place to spend a day enjoying the outdoors. Overall, Mahon Park is a beautiful and well-maintained green space that offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking to take a leisurely walk or engage in more strenuous outdoor activities, you'll find plenty to do...

Great facility. Used to run here back when it was a terrible dirt track. The upgrades are excellent, though they should have added more lanes to make it viable for competitions. The interior turf field is regularly used for soccer, so heads up if you are doing laps! There is a bit of equipment at the perimeter of the track which can make for some great additions to the workout.

Throw in the waterpark that is adjacent to the track and it really makes it great for the whole family.

Behind the stadium, a beach volleyball court has just been installed and the pickleball and basketball court are relatively new additions also. There is a great, well-sized, off-leash dog park as well. If you look, you can even see the stone that has been there since Mahon Park had an outdoor public pool, something North Van certainly needs...

Great Spray Park. Lots of seating for parental supervision/picnics, playgrounds for various ages, drinking water founain, bike racks, outdoor excersize circuit, Fen Burdette Stadium with artificial turf field, running track, bathrooms, open fields to the west, forest with paths to the North. Just a wonderful place to get out and play! Note, water balloons are banned. Rules are posted. Please leave them at home. I see three things wrong with water balloons. 1. They get into the water grates, gum up the water pumps, and prevent the spray nozzles from working 2. Harmful to animals. Wildlife such as squirrels, racoons, and birds seek them as sources of water and die from non-digestable balloons 3. Wasteful. Even if all picked up and put in garbage, they contribute to landfills

Mahon Park is a lovely local spot connecting the Fen Burdette Stadium and access to a walking trail. Bathrooms are regularly maintained. The park hosts a water spray park, playground and open space to relax. Benches & picnic tables spread out to allow opportunities to pause and enjoy the park. It gets busy in the spring and summer months as a popular and safe spot to bring young children Street parking available with a short path into the play area. There is also an adult fitness apparatus that seems well utilized. There is a pickleball court, skate park & enclosed dog park nearby, just behind the stadium. Wheelchair accessible
