Oak Bay Marina – Peaceful, Scenic, and Pure West Coast Vibes 🌊⛵
Oak Bay Marina was hands down one of the most beautiful and relaxing spots we visited in Victoria. Whether you’re into boats, nature, or just looking for a chill place to take in the ocean air — this place has it all.
🌅 The View? Unreal. Picture calm blue waters, sailboats rocking gently in the bay, and Mount Baker glowing in the distance. It’s the kind of view that makes you just stop, breathe, and smile. Whether you’re catching sunrise or watching the sunset colors paint the sky, Oak Bay delivers pure magic.
🛥️ The Marina Itself? Clean & Classy. Everything was well-maintained and organized — docks were spotless, boats were gorgeous, and the whole space just felt upscale but welcoming. You can walk along the water, sit on benches, and watch the harbor seals swim by (yes, we saw a few — adorable!).
🐟 The Sea Life? A Bonus Treat. We were lucky enough to see harbor seals popping up near the docks! There’s even a designated seal viewing area — super cute and perfect for kids, couples, or anyone who just wants to connect with nature.
🍽️ Food? Yes, please. The Marina Restaurant right on site serves delicious local seafood and wine — the perfect spot for a post-walk lunch or romantic dinner with a view. Highly recommend grabbing a bite while watching the boats come and go.
🚶♀️ Walkability & Chill Factor? 100%. There are paths along the shoreline, calm corners to relax, and spots to grab coffee or ice cream nearby. It’s a great place to unwind, take photos, or just get lost in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Final Word? Oak Bay Marina is more than just a marina — it’s a peaceful escape, a perfect photo op, and a must-visit destination in Victoria. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, this place will melt your stress away.
A total gem on the island — highly recommend it for families, couples, solo travelers, or anyone who loves...
Read moreEntered into a year lease with fixed terms marina failed to uphold the agreed upon terms and when confronted i was harassed and told I was crazy by a staff member. Within 24 hours they have threatened to seize my vessel over heresy from a third party i was given no time to deal with it and they have made zero effort to be professional about it. .
Its important to recognize that 90% of the 5star reviews are about the old marina eatery or the adjacent beach. I find all 3 star and below are actually talking about the marina. And more then half the ratings are off topic or made by staff and are from past ownership anything less then year is irrelevant
Don't trust your assets here
.the dock is falling apart current is swirling and all logs that come around the corner of the straight and hit your boats all day i have had to personally check for logs because the marina staff wont move them themselves the current there is strong and there is multiple issues with other boats and flyby electricity the slamming occurs almost year round excluding 4 months of the year you will be harassed by staff at late hours of the night and there is a million Karen's that walk here regularly. Not the mention the seals that live in this harbor that like to sleep on boats and capsized dingies. There is also a high chance someones derelict boat will crash into you many dock lines are savagely left for decades marina will also not intervene.
Not to mention the construction thats planned for the marina which will likely make theft and damage more likely.
If you are a serious boater avoid this place...
Read moreI have to say, we have never stayed here but had planned on it as we have heard wonderful things. We scheduled a trip and had booked nights at the marina with other boaters. Unfortunately we ended up having issues with our engines that caused us to miss the entire trip due to repairs. Upon contacting the marina they advised that we would have to still pay the fees as they did not get 7 days notice for cancellation. I wish we could have, but the engine failure did not happen 7 days prior and was completely out of our control. They were not understanding and seemed to not care. Other marina's did understand and some did charge a minimal fee for the cancellation; however Oak Bay charged the entire fee. Im sure that they will be able to fill the slip we would have had, and be able to double down on the cost.
Based on the lack of understanding this will be one marina that we will never go too, and will not recommend this marina. We do understand some fee's for cancellations but being charged the full amount for circumstances that are out of our control seems...
