Willow Beach is a beautiful spot in the Oak Bay area of Victoria. I stopped by recently and, while it was a little more crowded than I expected, it still had a calm, welcoming vibe. Families, dog walkers, and locals were all enjoying the sunny afternoon, and it was nice to see the space being so well-loved. The views from the beach are stunning—on a clear day you can see Mount Baker in the distance, and the water has that peaceful, West Coast energy. There’s plenty of driftwood for seating, and the gentle waves make for a relaxing background soundtrack. It’s also a great walking area, with nice benches and easy parking nearby. I was hoping to grab a drink from Kiwanis Tea Shop afterward, but it was closed when I went. (It turns out that location may have shut down permanently.) Still, Willow Beach was a lovely stop and well worth the visit. If you're in the area and want to take in some ocean air, this is a great place to do it.

The other day I was wondering what place to visit, and I decided to go to a beach, and Willow's beach was recommended not only by Google, but also by friends. So I grabbed my bike and did a 40 minute ride to Willow's Beach. The ride was great, but the beach was better! I went there so I could have a nice place to read in piece and tranquility. There is people walking, families laughing, dogs running around, and possibly one of the most peaceful places I have visited. It was a great place to read. The weather was great. The sand is really soft. The water is at a shallow level, but excluding winter time, it is definitely a place you can go for a little splash. See the pictures for yourself, and go! Go to the beach!

Great place for some quiet time: hear the waves, lie on a small beach with lots of driftwood for support and barriers. Water and shore is OK for swimming; I recommend water shoes for any beach in the Victoria area. A truly great view of #MountBaker on a clear day - magnificent! During high season (May long-weekend to September long-weekend) there is a food/tea station. Washrooms and changes room are available. Transit: take bus #2 to Willows. There is parking available but is busy on nice days and weekends. A nice place worth a visit.

Love this long stretched out beach! It has such a cozy feel-good vibe to it. Everyone feels welcome. You will see all ages and everyone gets along great. There's a large expansive lawn area with a few scattered picnic tables and many trees offering shade that the beach doesn't afford. Very clean! All areas. Let's all work together to keep it that way. 😉 The bathrooms suck! Sorry but they do. Three stalls in the women's bathroom. Really? We're women, and we're bringing our children in there all the time. Expect to wait. Love the outdoor shower. Simple but effective. There's a small building selling simple food items. Eg. ice cream, pop, chips, prefab sandwiches, hotdogs (but no burgers), onion rings (delish!), and other similar items. There's indoor seating space too. Parking lot on one side of the park is mediocre in size, but at least it's free. There's also more parking along the street, up against most of the length of the beach. I like that, so I can keep an eye out for my vehicle, not that I've heard about break-ins. It feels pretty safe here. Parking in the general surrounding area is also available. And free! Watch for signs that say 'residential parking only'. The beach looks across at an attractive marina. Most people don't swim in the water. Not sure why. Too cold I'm guessing? Kids play around in it a bit. It really is worth a visit. Ride your bicycle to the park and beach as it's a beautiful bike ride with lots to look at along the way. In short, I don't think this park disappoints. Expect crowds. And the chance to meet lots of nice friendly...
