Trafalgar Park is a hidden gem at 240 King George Terrace in Victoria, BC. Parking is convenient, with plenty of spots near the entrance, though it can fill up quickly during peak times. The park is relatively accessible; however, some areas have uneven terrain and trails better explored with sturdy footwear.

One of the most memorable aspects of Trafalgar Park is its breathtaking views of the ocean and nearby coastal landmarks, making it a photographer’s paradise. The park’s history is rich, having been established in the mid-20th century, and its name is a nod to the famous Battle of Trafalgar. The scenery is incredible, with dramatic coastal cliffs, windswept trees, and open grassy areas where you can enjoy a peaceful picnic. The best time of day to visit is early morning or late afternoon, as the golden light creates stunning panoramas over the water.

You don’t need any special equipment to enjoy Trafalgar Park, but a camera is highly recommended to capture the stunning surroundings. Wear comfortable hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers, as the trails can be rugged in places. Bring a light jacket, especially if visiting later in the day, as the coastal winds can pick up.

The views of the Olympic Mountains, Juan de Fuca Strait, and even passing ship glimpses create a truly unique experience. Trafalgar Park offers a tranquil retreat for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a quiet escape with...

Trafalgar Park in Victoria, BC, is a hidden gem that offers breathtaking ocean views and a tranquil natural setting. This undeveloped natural area provides waterfront access and features steep, rugged trails leading down to a rocky beach.

Visitors can enjoy a scenic viewpoint from the parking lot atop the hill, offering panoramic vistas of the ocean and surrounding landscapes. Its serene atmosphere and stunning views, particularly during sunrise and sunset, are truly remarkable. The steep, rugged trails are best suited for those with proper hiking footwear, and the area is popular among urban runners, walkers, and bikers due to its high elevation. For tired travelers, a few benches are available to rest and take in the surrounding beauty.

The park is home to several imperiled plant species and ecosystems, making it a unique destination for nature enthusiasts.

Overall, Trafalgar Park is a peaceful retreat for those seeking to connect with nature and enjoy the scenic beauty of...

I love this viewpoint. It provides a lovely view of Oak Bay and Victoria and out into the sea towards Washington State. On a clear day you can see Mount Baker in the distance. There is a little map on a cairn which shows what you're looking at in various directions. There was no wheelchair parking that I saw but some of the parking spaces are quite large. There is a water fountain that is shut off in the winter. There are steep stairs leading down into the small rocky park. Nearby and below on a point is the Chinese Cemetery which is also a truly...

Amazing unobstructed beautiful views of the Oceanside. The day was perfect and we enjoyed a little bite to eat while taking in the sights. The kids enjoyed climbing on the rocks and trying to get the best vantage point. Plenty of birds, boats and people all taking advantage of what the island has to offer. This was our first time here but definitely not our last as this seems like it could be a great area to view sunrises and sunsets so we want to check that out.

Trafalgar park is an amazing view point of the surrounding area that follows an outstanding array of incredibly maintained houses that follow the road from beacon Hill park. We had a deer jump out in front of our car as we drove to the view point and it just stopped and looked at us calmly. The houses along the path are magnificent in their glory and so well maintained. The road will lead you back into central Victoria, but what a ride.
