Gorgeous view of the coast from residential neighborhood. The three view points visited and in walking distances from each other are: an closed astronomy building (weather station), pointy plaque commemorating shipping trade route, and a viewing plate form. The Park seems to be a fav amongst locals. There are stones, rocks, and mud holes for some parts of the paths so wear good footwear.

A cute spot to check out! The best adventure is walking up the road to a path. You cruze down the stairs across the road and check out the tidepools. It will say beach path just keep going you won’t regret it. Lots of stairs but worth the hike.

Fun spot with spectacular view from the top of the hill. Secret staircase and a little hike to the cairn on the tippy top. Beach is perfectly sheltered for little ones

Gonzales Hill Regional Park offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in Victoria, and it’s a place that truly leaves an impression. Perched high above the city, the park provides a sweeping vista that stretches out to the distant horizon, capturing the essence of Vancouver Island’s natural beauty.

From the summit, you can take in a stunning 360-degree view that includes the sparkling waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the rugged peaks of the Olympic Mountains, and the lush, green landscape of the surrounding areas. On a clear day, the sight is nothing short of spectacular, with the distant mountains standing in stark contrast against the deep blue of the ocean.

The view is especially captivating at sunrise and sunset when the sky is painted with hues of pink, orange, and gold, casting a warm glow over the landscape. It's a moment of pure tranquility, where you can feel truly connected to nature.

Beyond the views, the park itself is a peaceful haven, with well-maintained trails that wind through native plants and Garry oak meadows. It’s a perfect spot for a quiet hike, a leisurely walk, or simply a moment of reflection while taking in the surroundings.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Gonzales Hill Regional Park is a place that should be on your must-see list. The views alone make it worth the trip, offering a perspective of Victoria that is both grand and humbling. If you’re looking for a place to appreciate the natural beauty of the island, this park is a gem that you won’t...

I grew up down the bottom of the hill. It's home. Played in the brush and on the rocks, watched fire works off Clover Point and in the Inner Harbour from here. Toured the Observatory when it was such, even went up on the roof. Best views of Victoria, the Olympics, the Straights, Mr. Baker, Little Saanich Mt., Mt. Tolmie and Mt. Douglas from here. My...
