Lovely one acre garden, tucked away in a residential neighborhood. 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. No entrance fee, but donations encouraged. Parking on the street. Volunteers greet you and answer questions in the garden. Tea House in the former home. Lucked out for an opening for afternoon tea, but reservations encouraged. $55 per person. There is also a four course tea, elevenses, and a few extra add-ons available. The three course afternoon tea with a pot of tea of your choice is $54. Very tasty and beautifully presented. Friendly service, lovely setting. Be warned there are lots of annoying wasps on the terrace that swarm the tea tray even with a napkin draped over the tiers. There is indoor seating available as well. Restroom/washroom inside by hostess stand and next to the gift store.
A nice garden was built in 1946 by a Prince from Georgia. The garden is small, no thing special to watch but the freshness and greeness. There is a nice tea house and shop with some options for tea sets including cakes, sandwich, cheese,…. Price is from 28$ up to 68$. You can enjoy a stunning view from the tea shop (out door area) or a cozy and English style in side. In general, people come here for the English style tea drinking not because of the garden landscape. Remember to wear properly (comply w their dress code) when you come here. I will mark it 5 stars if the garden has more flowers, larger space, with benches :) and a book store. Anyway, I had a good time here with my daughter and friend.
By donation only, sits Abkhazi Garden in Victoria, BC - A tranquil and picturesque gem. 🌸 Nestled in the Fairfield Gonzales neighbourhood, it offers a serene escape with its beautifully landscaped grounds, including winding paths, lush flora, and a charming teahouse. The garden's history adds to its allure, originally cultivated by Prince and Princess Abkhazi - a truly sweet love story. I took my family there as my parents both love flowers and are celebrating 60 years together in 2024. We really appreciated the garden's peaceful ambiance and the opportunity to enjoy tea amidst the greenery. It’s a delightful spot for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat in Victoria.
We went here for my birthday to experience the high tea, I reserved ahead of time and we got a beautiful seat by the window with a view. The food was delicious and the tea perfect! If you go to the tea house I highly recommend the Royal Abkhazi High Tea! It consists of 4 courses and the herbal tea I had was Angelwater. The Gardens were stunning! With beautiful assortments of flowers and alot of history the volunteers told us so much about this beautiful place. I highly recommend checking out this place, the food is amazing and the gardens (especially at this time of year) are beautiful and blooming.
Absolutely stunning Garden in an extremely gorgeous area. There’s a lot of great stories and history behind it. It’s maintained by volunteers which is incredible. Also, FREE of charge! They welcome donations to keep this beautiful garden healthy and maintained. Which makes it even more special! My shop and Tour Guides, can’t wait to get here more often. When we launch our “Pedal To The Petals” E-Bike Tour of Victorias Gardens. Launching and bookable starting June 21st!! We look forward to seeing you in the near future Abkhazi Team!
It's a bit tricky to find this place because its nestled in a residential area and looks like any other gated house on the block. Lots of free parking on the street or by the school half a block away. Admission by donation. Easy walk but not wheelchair accessible as the gravel is pitted with stairs in some parts. There's a beautiful tea house at the top with indoor and outdoor seating. Takes 15 to 20 min to circle the entire garden which features gorgeous cherry blossoms, rhododendrons and magnolia trees as well as other blooms.
