Walbran Park — Attraction in Oak Bay

Walbran Park is a great place; I smoked a lot of weed up there in my college days back in the early 90's!😆 It's a great place because it seems like not many people know about it, other than the people in the neighborhood; any time I go up there, I'm alone! Right now there are Scotch broom and Camas blooming; the yellow and purple give a real Easter feel! My favorite spot is a little park bench that you'll find if you walk up to the top where the stone pyramid is, then down the other side of the hill. There is a gnarly Arbutus tree right next to it, and a fantastic view! See if you can find it! This park is located at the top of Gonzales Hill. There is an observatory. There are many different viewpoints where one can see all over Victoria. There are several ways up and down Gonzales Hill including a set of steps that go off of Denison, a set of steps that lead from the observatory down to King George Terrace, and one can take Fairfield Place and then the small path that leads up to the park.
