PART 1: Sales Process: They were pleasant and easy to work with. We met a few times before I purchased a Control 4 full house system for my rebuilt house. This included multiple tv’s, music system, outdoor tv/music, indoor/outdoor house lighting system, automatic blinds, house wifi and security.
Where my issue lies is that at no time was I told that if I kept my some of my NON 4K flat screen tv’s, the Control 4 system would automatically reduce the resolution of ALL tv’s to the lowest resolution and give me tv issues. Additional $ programming are now needed to resolve this issue along with 3 new TV’s.
I rate their Sales Process: 3/5.
PART 2: INSTALLATION: Their installation was very tidy and organized and done in the time frame they allotted for the job.

PART 3: PROGRAMMING: Unlike with the design of the house Control 4 system on which we collaborated, they did the initial lighting/music system programming without consulting with me. It wasn’t what worked for me based on how I use the house. After a few tries they got it right but not before they explained to me how they have “gone over their allocated budget time for the programming on this project.” I reminded them that at no point did I have any input into the original programming as to the functionality of the lighting system.

PART 4: AFTER-SALES SERVICE CONTRACT:
This is where the nightmare begins! I purchased the Sounds Good BEST coverage package which includes:

What is NOT stated above that if the problem occurs between midday Friday to Monday morning your on your own!!
The biggest issue was in Mar.’19. The system started to have issues on a Thursday and went down 100% on the Friday. No security, wifi, music, tv. Only some lights worked individually without the system. Luke was headed out of town and Rob was on a family vacation. As a result there was 100% NO emergency service coverage!
On Monday Luke came by the house and corrected the problem which proved to be a faulty power bar. Adding insult to injury I incurred an extra $60.00 on Rogers for additional wireless data for streaming/wifi.
On May 7’19 I emailed Rob to inquire about the latest release to Control 4 OS 3 that I heard was being released.
“I understand there is a major upgrade to Control 4 that is being released.” I would like to here about the features/improvements regarding this upgrade. Pls advise. Thx mk”
Rob’s response. “There will be Control 4 3.0 coming. Not ETA. Most likely between Oct and Dec. No details yet. Very hush hush.”
Are you kidding me!!! I had spoken to another Control 4 system provider that indicated he was already trained on the system and it was available now!
The straw that broke the camel’s back came again on a Fri, Jun. 7’19 when the house WIFI went down. In short I solved the problems on my own with NO follower from anyone from the Sounds Good team.
What they failed to understand is that Sounds Good chose to be in the system support business as well as in the sales and installation business. While some tech issues can indeed be resolved over the internet and phone clearly some can not. As a Control 4 customer you have NO options to call another provider when your in a jam. Your locked in! So when you rely on your ENTIRE house to operate on a system and you buy their BEST support package that the company offers ONE needS to have peace of mind they will be there for you 24/7. Sounds Good were/are NOT!
For a Control 4 system RELIABLE SUPPORT is EVERYTHING!

Read moreRob and Chris just finished my job last week. Hard workers, and very pleasant to have in the house for 8 hours. Heres the thing about Sounds Good ... You can get quotes from individuals or companies that come in a lot cheaper in price, but you are chasing them to understand what is included in their price, asking them numerous questions, not understanding what type of finished product you are going to get, etc. Its very rare in this industry to find someone that lays out the plan and strategy leaving no stone unturned, accounting for high end audio purchases to ensure your system runs problem free for years to come. Most installers will give you a lower price (which don't get me wrong, will look attractive) however they will most likely cut corners on some material, workmanship, etc., never mind the stress/headache of having to make sure everything is done correctly and the everlasting problems you will have if its not. Additionally, they probably wont be a legitimate company that will service you for years to come and be there if you need them when something breaks down in the future. It is really hard to describe in plain words the experience, the attention to every tiny detail, understanding, patience, professional excellence and most of all the hard work of this super smart humans. I am still in AWE of how I survived before 😂 without being able to do everything from the comfort of my bed or bathroom or back yard etc … from a tiny phone with a soft touch … I am basically controlling everything from lights to alarms and video cameras to tv … music house temperature, garage doors, entrances , windows, water, gas!
