Cordova Valley Park — Attraction in Oshawa

This review is for the dog park. Excellent off leash area fully fenced for dogs both big and small. Well maintained by the city and owners that use it keep it spotless by picking up after pets. The 3 stars is because I felt very sad for my small dog. The area for small dogs and puppies, was only mulch! The large breed area was outstanding. The dogs had a mulch area and a very large fenced in green area where they could run around, play and roll in the grass. This I feel was bad planning. I appreciate that larger breed dogs need more space and grass is wonderful for them. But small dogs also love to run and play plus roll in the grass. The mulch can be hard on their paws especially pups. I did phone city to voice my opinion and must say they were very nice to deal with. I hope down the road the park planning committee considers extending the small dog section. They wouldn't have to take much space away from the larger dogs and some of the existing fencing could be reused...

I enjoy the new dog park, the playground looks amazing for those who have children, and the community garden is something I hope to get...
