The bridge is a 5 star experience, unfortunately parking nearby is limited and time restrictions extremely limiting 24/7. This is true of those with young children, the elderly and mobility challenge - once there it has unimpeded access for all! Bravo. It is accessible by the Ottawa LRT Bayview station.
The bridge is a refurbished old train bridge that is long overdue, and now it is functional, summer, spring & fall, iit is a lively walk with 360 views of the river and both sides of the Ottawa Gatineau river. Particularly of the ongoing development of the Algonquin land called the Kitcha Zibi development, and ambitious mixed use sustainable development on 15 hectares. Imo the unique architecture and common areas will be a definite area to explore once completed.1. On a warm summers day the continual breeze is heavenly and some shade is available from the metal frames of the bridge structure.
This is a particularly ideal experience on bikes as you can access the National Capitol Commissions bike/walking paths in virtually any direction along both sides of the Ottawa River. Also, including accessing the southerly most entrance to Gatineau Park. Keep in mind the distances if you decide to take that route.

The symmetry of the bridge makes it a fantastic spot for photos too. A must-visit if you’re exploring...
