I read some of the reviews before coming here, and came with an open mind. We got here at 10am and figured out the whole seating arrangement within a minute. It was not difficult in my opinion. One line is dine in, one is dine out. I grabbed us a table and told my wife what I wanted she ordered and brought us our order flag. She was in line for about 10 minutes. I originally got orange juice as they were very busy at the time and couldn’t make latte’s. The orange juice was very fresh, and my wife had drip coffee, black which was really good coffee! We waited about 15 minutes for our food, and before it came one of the staff asked if we wanted any latte’s as it slowed down and they could make them now. She also apologized and offered them half off. I found that to be accommodating, and ordered a pumpkin spice latte. The latte, was perfect creamy, frothy, and warm. Our breakfast came, and it was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was perfect and creamy, the eggs were soft and burst, and the English muffins were nice and toasted without being too crispy and soaked up all the sauce and yolk wonderfully. The roasted potatoes were a big hit too, and the ketchup was delicious not sure if they make it but it’s very tasty! My wife loved her breakfast plate. One of her eggs was broken so she got three, no complaints here. Her bacon was fantastic, sweet and salty, very strong maple flavour it was lovely. She got the sourdough bread and it was really good, and went very well with the egg. In addition we also got a loaf of cheddar jalapeño bread, which is divine! All in all we had a great experience here! Yes we spent roughly $65 for breakfast (that’s including the loaf) that’s expensive, but I don’t mind paying for good food, and the food here is delicious. Read moreArt-Is-In Bakery is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece! From the moment you step inside, the welcoming atmosphere and the intoxicating smell of freshly baked goods make it clear that you’ve found something special. This bakery is a true gem in the heart of the city, offering an incredible array of both savory and sweet treats that are all made with the highest quality ingredients.
The first thing that stands out about Art-Is-In is the variety of its menu. Whether you're craving a perfectly flaky croissant, a deliciously soft cinnamon bun, or an inventive savory pastry like their signature quiche, this bakery has something to satisfy every craving. The pastries are consistently top-notch—flaky, buttery, and perfectly balanced in flavor. The bread, especially their sourdough, is a standout, with a crust that’s just the right level of crispness and a soft, airy interior that’s incredibly satisfying.
I highly recommend their signature "Chocolate Almond Croissant"—it’s pure bliss. The balance of dark chocolate and almond paste wrapped in delicate, buttery layers is nothing short of perfection. The portion size is just right too—not too large, but definitely indulgent enough to feel like a treat.
What makes Art-Is-In even more special is the sense of artistry that goes into every creation. You can tell that every item is crafted with care and attention to detail. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to offer recommendations and help you find exactly what you’re in the mood for.

Read moreArt-Is-In Bakery has been a beloved spot for our family for years. Nestled in the heart of Ottawa, it truly is a hidden gem that consistently serves up some of the best food in the city. Whether you're there for a quick bite or a relaxed meal, the atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are friendly, and the food quality never disappoints.
One of my absolute favorites is their tuna melt. It’s always perfectly prepared with a generous amount of filling, and the flavor is absolutely addictive. Every bite reminds me why we keep coming back. Their bread pudding is another standout item. It’s rich, indulgent, and simply heavenly—an absolute must-try if you visit.
However, despite how much we enjoy the food, there’s no ignoring the elephant in the room: the pricing. I understand that we live in a post-COVID world where inflation has affected almost every aspect of life, including dining out. But paying $20 for just a tuna melt sandwich feels excessive, even for a place known for its gourmet offerings.
Don’t get me wrong—the food and service are consistently top-notch, and the staff always go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. Still, the high prices make it difficult to justify eating here as often as we’d like. It’s the only thing keeping me from giving this place a full 5-star rating.
Overall, Art-Is-In Bakery is a fantastic spot for food lovers who don’t mind splurging a bit. While the pricing might not be for everyone, the quality of the food and the exceptional service make it worth visiting, even if only occasionally. I’m giving it 4 stars out of 5—and would recommend it with the caveat that it might stretch...
