Tooth and Nail Brewing, nestled in the heart of Hintonburg, embodies the essence of an ideal brew pub. As you step through its unassuming entrance, you're greeted by an atmosphere that exudes warmth and intimacy. The brewery's cozy interior, with its low lighting and wooden accents, instantly makes you feel at home. The simplicity of their menu is refreshing – it doesn't overwhelm with choices, but rather focuses on the essentials. From upscale hotdogs to delectable snacks, the food here perfectly complements the star of the show: the beer. And what a beer menu it is! Tooth and Nail Brewing's selection of craft brews is nothing short of exquisite. Whether you're a fan of hoppy IPAs, rich stouts, or crisp lagers, they have something to delight every palate. The staff's knowledge and passion for their craft shine through as they guide you through the options, helping you find the perfect brew to accompany your meal. In the heart of Hintonburg, Tooth and Nail Brewing is a hidden haven for beer enthusiasts and those seeking an intimate, cozy place to unwind. Whether you're looking for a quiet evening with friends or a casual date night, this brewery offers a memorable experience that leaves you appreciating the art of brewing and the joy of simplicity.

Great location, atmosphere, service, food, and drinks. No complaints whatsoever! And they sure do brew a mean brew. The selection is on point, with a wide range of flavors for different tastes. Ranging from refreshing fruity summer to dark comforting winter ales. The patio is intimate, but not crowded. Inside seemed like a zoo so we didn't sit inside. It has a darker, almost grungier feel to it. Outside patio was light, airy, with a really great feel to it. The food was fantastic. Definitely get the chips and dip, especially if your just there for a few brews. Perfectly salted crispy chips with 2 of the best dips you'll have. Sample every! Even the ones you think you won't like. We were both pleasantly surprised. Location is good, with parking along the street. Even when it's busy there's still somewhere to park the car. Suffice it to say, very enjoyable experience. Even someone that's not a beer drinker will enjoy this and they will have something that they will for sure enjoy. Cheers!

I've been coming here now and then for a couple of years. The food used to be "Fair food", like hot dogs and really not much to get excited about - basically what bars legally have to have to sell alcohol. That's no longer true. They just changed their menu a few months back. I stopped in because I wanted a sandwich and they were nearby. That's the pic with the larger pepperoncinis. Basic flavours - basil pesto, aged cheddar, confit grape tomatoes. Toasted, fresh roll. This is a truly world-class sandwich. I had to come back to try it again. Today, the same sandwich was exactly the same but less toasted. Pros and cons to each, I love it. 9.1 - this is one of the best sandwiches in Ottawa. Subito, di Rienzo, Sherwood - Tooth and Nail needs to be listed with the greats. My girlfriend got the vegan friendly Pinsa, the base is an herbed tahini. Also exceptional. Already a great brewery with great beer, now the food is ridiculously delicious. I will be back to try to the beef dip next.

I happened to have the good fortune to meet Andrew on an unrelated matter, and it came up in conversation that he owned Tooth and Nail. I have long been a craft beer drinker, supporter of “local” and supporter of “good folks”, so my fiancée and I made a point of visiting T&N recently, and WOW!!

We enjoyed the pub fare – gourmet “dogs” – she had the New York Dog I had the Chicago Dog – and we shared the bratwurst plate – two thumbs up from both of us on the food!!

For the beer – we shared “Lucidity” (Summer Pale Ale); Rabble Rouser (IPA); and Supernova (Lager)… absolutely great beers. If I had to choose a fave, it would be the Lucidity – perfect hoppiness, a very gentle citrus hit, smooth and soft – DAM!!, a lovely beer.

As good as the food and beer were, we must say the staff that we interacted with were all fun, polite, helpful and so knowledgeable and confident on the food/beer offerings, we were impressed to say the least.

So, if you love a good afternoon/evening out, great beer (they also have some Ontario wines available….) and you want to support local and good folks, look no further – put this on your...
