I use this place to show my child the animals beneath the veil of our agricultural system.
These animals, though constrained by the limits of their nature still share a great deal with us and our human experience.
They too were created and sustained by the industrial systems we are enmeshed in, they too cannot leave if they wanted to.
My hope is that these early connections with nature will foster an empathy for nature, so that I can mitigate the cultural solipsism which is driving this civilization off a cliff.
It is too easy to ignore the systematic misery this culture visits on these innocent beings in the name of profit and efficiency, this place offers its patrons and their families the ability to connect with those without a voice nor much of a choice.
