William E. deGarthe Memorial Provincial Park — Attraction in Peggys Cove

It's no secret that this is such a picturesque place. My youngest son who is 10 and a home body and has difficulty with change said that after visiting Peggy's Cove that he felt so free walking through the rocks and looking at the ocean. A huge huge step for him. We are moving to Nova Scotia from Ontario and this is going to be such positive move for him. Lovely addition to the region. DeGarthe was a GENIUS when it came to making wonderful artwork out of stone - and trust me, you do NOT want to take the rocks of the HAlifax area for granite (ok, it mostly IS granite, but seriously: its a hard rock to work with!!). His creation here is a memorial to the vanishing way of life in the region, and is WELL worth stopping by to see, especially if you are already at...

This is a definite 5 for anyone to visit. Take lots of pictures and enjoy the souvenir shopping, the ocean views, the uniqueness of the village setting and lighthouse. The food served at the restaurant is delicious and the servers very friendly and no need to confine your tasting to just the restaurant.
