Our family went here for the evening on Monday night. After a short time of gaming. My cousin and I opted to sit at what appeared to be a bar in the cafe, and catch up over a couple of beers. After chatting for an hour. One of the waitresses had started to work on cutlery rolls right next to us. Literally one foot in front of us. I had politely asked if she could do this anywhere else or at any other time? She smiled politely and walked away. 10 minutes later. I had excused myself to go to the restroom. In the time that I walked away(the initial complainant) and came back. The same server was back again with "the manager on duty" both of whom were staring at us defiantly making us feel unwanted. Working on the cutlery rolls in the exact same spot. I made the same request and was met with a barrage of comebacks and vague threats about calling security. "This is the only spot that we can work" "you can sit anywhere else in the cafe" I had asked to speak with a manager, as the behavior was not to be expected from a senior level employee. She quickly replied "I am so sorry but I am the "Manager on Duty" and your going to have to deal with me" and "If you dont settle down than I will have to call security on you!"
At this point we were ready to drop the whole incident and continue with our conversation. We sat there awkwardly for a moment while the server continued to work basically on our table. Glaring at us and quietly seething. My cousin had asked me how this would have played out in another casino. I mentioned that work would not be done in front of the guests and that it would have been handled differently. This is when the server jumped into our personal conversation and started to defend their actions. "We told you that you could move to any other table!?!"
At this point. I am visibly upset about the server listening and intruding in our personal conversation but also the issue was "resolved" by the " Manager on Duty" and she did not need to offer any more input.
I asked to speak with a manager and without even asking what happened. The manager had called security and was ready to have us escorted off the premises for voicing our concerns. We had a pleasant conversation with security guard whom listened our side of the story. The 'manager on duty' made no such attempt.
I dont make reviews but this incident made me reach out because of the rudeness and lack of attention that the "service" team displayed. Everyother guest go the care and attention that guests should e xpect to receive but we were considered rude as we happened to sit in the...
Read moreMy review concerns #accessibility and #inclusion. I booked an accessible room. As we arrived: Accessible parking spots quite far from door and snow/ice build up excessive. Lobby - lovely new lobby but there are no lowered desk spots so if someone who cannot stand is there and uses a wheelchair or is elderly and needs a chair, they cannot see or hear the person up top very well. Additionally the key pad for the visa machine does not reach down so the attendant had to do some override for the payment to go through - which means I had to hand over my Visa card to have that happen. Entry to room is lovely but if someone knocked at the door I’d have no way to see who it is because no lower peep holes are put in the wheelchair accessible room. Beautifully fresh and clean room - however the bed is one of those higher beds. My husband had to lift me up to get into it. If I had been alone I’d not have been able to get on the bed - at all - and would have needed housekeeping staff to remove the mattress support for me. Bathroom shower is great for access. 6.Mirror access for a woman or man needing to see up closer is terrible. Most hotels have a cosmetic mirror either loose or attached to the wall so you can see the face. It’s Prince George for heavens sake and we had to go outside to get to the restaurant then back again. It’s Prince George for heavens sake and we had to go outside AGAIN to go the casino.
I’d say for a hotel if I wasn’t in a wheelchair it would have been ok but for a person in a wheelchair I’d say the hotel...
Read moreThumbs Down. When bingo is over they want you to sign off immediately, ending your opportunity to access the online slots. Your only choice is to cash out. Well on June 8th, when, I went to cash out my elderly mother in-laws $10.40 (terminal 3055) which was the remainder of what she put in and not winnings, I took the wrong receipt. Meanwhile the attendants came and cleaned. They don’t wait for you to move, they just work around you. When I went back to get the proper receipt the table was cleared. I asked what happened to the receipts and my daughter said the lady put everything on a tray and left. I went back to the cashier with all the information and was told they only way to get the remaining money was to dig in the garbage closest to where I was sitting to find the receipt. There are 4 bins in the area I was sitting. Being told to dig into garbage that people have thrown left over food in and cups they spit into is very unnerving. I did look in the bins on top but refused to “ DIG” into waste that can potentially make me sick. When your on a fixed income every penny counts. My mother- in-law can only play computer bingo so we travel from Fort St. James to Prince George 1-2 times a month for her so she can have a bit of entertainment. We have to consider gas, food and lodging when we take trips to PG. I know people assume the risk when they gamble but you shouldn’t feel ripped-off when you are owed money! I am usually fine with the services in the bingo but this time we left unhappy and disappointed. Not sure when we...
