I can't believe it's been 10 years since I first signed up to Snap Fitness. A lot has changed in this gym since it opened, including a major remodeling that added showers, lockers, and a class room.
Equipment - solid, I can work out pretty much every muscle group here, they have a Smith machine, leg press, deadlift racks, kettleballs, etc. They used to have a hanging punching bag which was really cool but they removed it to make more space.
Atmosphere - respectful - even though there's a lot more members than when I first started, if you don't go after work, it's not crowded. They like playing EDM through the speakers though, if that's your type of jam.
Facilities - clean - I always say hi and thank you to the staff that comes on Sunday to clean the place up. The staff help re-rack lost weights but usually people do it themselves.
Trainers - I started out with a dude named Chris, he was the man. But now, you will see Pouria, Armin, and Shahrooz from Dream Team PT (check them out). If you are worried about them pressuring you for training, they won't because they are already booked solid with people wanting their services. Check out the pic of the medals they've won. Serious stuff.
*EDIT - Shout out to the independent trainers that also work out of this gym, at least two female trainers (one is named Catherine I think) and some other independent ones available, ask for them as well.
Cost - the cost has increased since I started but that is to be expected, especially in 2022. If you check the gym out, you might meet 'Al' (the owner) and you can talk with him. My experience with him has been great, he took the time to get to know me, which was unexpected, and during the pandemic, he continued a rebate on membership freezes even though corporate discontinued it. If you get to know him, he might even tell you his real name! 😁
I'm thankful there's such a high quality gym here in the Headford /...
Read moreThis place is my lifeline. It's got a great ratio of squat racks/free weights to cardio equipment/bikes, so it's a place to get serious. There are plenty of machines for every muscle. Best of all, there's a dance studio with mirrors and free weight equipment that you can also use 24/7. Although the gym can feel crammed during busy hours, there's enough variety among equipment that you can always find something. Plus, it's great having all the important stuff within reach.
The staff are always kind and accommodating, and build up a great rapport with you over time. Customers are kind and stick with the gym, so you get a "local" feel. Freshen up with a shower after -- women's change rooms are spacious and functional. And there's a Freshco in the same plaza, so you can get affordable...
Read moreGreat gym, great staff, super clean. I want to give it 5 stars the only issues I have is it can be a bit cramped at times, and with it being a smaller gym there isn't a huge variety of equipment but they have made a considerable effort to get a good variety and some things I haven't seen in bigger commercial gyms. The side room with mats and a separate smaller set of dumbbells is also a nice touch a good spot to abs or cardio, or stretching and warm up before starting a workout. Overall awesome gym glad to be there, just wish it was a...
