Saanich Gorge Park — Attraction in Saanich

A beautiful park featuring ample parking kids playground picnic areas well kept large areas of lawn,very scenic local birds and wildlife, Victoria harbor ferry dock located just south of the Gorge Tillicum narrows bridge..excellent for visitors to our city to enjoy the spectacular views and other amenities located near the park watch kayak paddlers navigate the fast flowing current produced by tidal changes in the waterway..see the community garden plot at the southern end of the park..enjoy the many trails, including a part on the western end of Tillicum bridge that takes you to the main entrance via the under bridge walkway a family park with ample shade trees and open greenspace. Many features and a summer festival along the entire section of Gorge rd featuring live music vintage automobiles food trucks and smiling locals make this park a great daytrip...

This is one of my favorite places to commune with Nature in Victoria. Natural trails as well as city maintained pathways make this park an all ages and abilities accessible park. There are steep inclines along the waterfront so parents will want to keep a close eye on little persons but it is a great place to teach kids the basics of beginning outdoor natural exploring.

For those who have mobility challenges that require smoother pathways, this is an awesome natural park with maintained pathways that feel like trails.

Gorge park is set along the banks of the Gorge waterway. From there you can see the reverse falls found under the Tillicum bridge. There is a ferry that comes on a regular basis to pick up or drop off foot passengers. An assortment of traffic (bikes, scooters, hikers, dog walkers, families, etc) often travel on the trails found throughout the park.
