Pros: food was pleasant and hot. Food came quick. Price is expected.
Cons: felt like an inconvenience, terrible service. Didn't speak up because I figured she didn't want me there anyways.
I am quite unsure of my visit at 4pm.
I walked in and requested to sit in, and the waitress kind of "huffed" at that. So I sat and she gave me a menu.
She brought me a water and asked me if I was ready and I was. So that cool. But I tried to order the Pho tossed noodle bowl ( 31G )and she tried to talk me out of it and told me to order something she pointed to, which didn't even have the same protien options. The protiens I wanted were beef balls, tripe, and brisket. So I ordered what I wanted and she didn't seem to be OK with that and asked if I was sure because it's "blanched" meat and the other is "char". So does she not like the food???
Then she grabbed the menu and walked away before I could even order a drink.
The food came hot, and within 5 minutes of ordering. So that was great. I like the meal. But again she never came to double check everything was good.
I don't expect much from service but the double check is kind of a must in my books, I would have loved a drink. So I ate as fast as I could so I no longer had to inconvenience them.
I don't think I will be back. Her tone was very cold towards me and I felt like an inconvenience. Food was good. Atleast I'm full on my commute back home over...
Read moreMy husband and I have been here a few times and the food was good enough to come back, this time with the kids, for their first Pho experience. However, we will not be back again, as they overcharged for the order of the larger sized bowl without any mention when ordering or on the menu. The food was served fast enough though our server was rather sharp and a bit unfriendly. The flavour of the two bowls was decent, good spice on ours, the kids enjoyed theirs, and the spring rolls were quite nice. When paying, however, the bill was surprisingly more than we expected. We were charged $7 extra for king size bowls that weren't on the menu. We disputed the charge and asked for a refund on the up charge and were met with a lengthy explanation. I asked to see where on the menu the charge was listed, they couldn't show it. They only indicated that "open food" was for the two larger sized bowls, which really were the same amount of food in a larger bowl. They asked "what can I do to make you happy?" when I disputed the charge. I said "refund my $7, please" I was told "you ask too much!" The poor service and increased charge for, really, nothing has left a bad taste in our mouths. We won't be back. The food is decent enough, though pho for beginners.. but I must advise patrons to watch their bills....
Read moreSmiling staff and decent prices however......after I handed over the cash ($13.60....not including other times I have eaten there) and the lady wearing plastic gloves placed it into the till and gave me change...she then put both hands directly into the large container of RAW meat while I was speaking with the other woman at the till. I told woman I was speaking with what I saw....three times...before she finally acknowledged me, turned and spoke in their language to the other girl, asking her to change her gloves which she did after turning her back and kneeling on the floor to dispose of the contaminated ones. This was after the fact she'd contaminated the meat container.
She did .not' apologize but got very quiet with me. I did not get angry, at the time. I was expected to eat the food. I figured it wouldn't kill me but have had time in my busy schedule to think about others since then.
F O O D S A F E practice is NOT happening here and the lack of refund left a sting for sure. On second thought. nearly $14.00 for a bowl of sticky vermicelli and a handful of chicken is a rather high price for what one receives.
I feel the need to warn others as this is a family mall and if it upset my tummy I hate to think what happens that...
