I came for Saturday night comedy, which was a great way to end my short trip to Victoria. I had no clue this legendary stand up joint was attached to my hotel when I booked The Vic and I’m so glad I did. Service is attentive and friendly. I ordered the veggie platter, lemon pepper wings and a sour beer (Dino was in the name but I forget the whole name), and ordered a 2nd plate of Saskatchewan Buffalo wings as I was still hungry. First the veggie platter was fresh, and must have been organic because my carrots were sweet. So good. The lemon pepper wings were kinda bland but I was given a small container of extra seasoning and the ranch that came with the veggie platter helped. My server kindly gave me samples of their 2 sour beers on tap for me to make a decision. The second order of wings was the best, absolutely get the Saskatchewan Buffalo. It was not too hot and creamy. At the very start of the show, the regular who sat next to me experienced a medical emergency. Staff were quick to assist, stopping the show and helped carry him up the stairs to wait for ambulance outside. The staff even had the headliner comedian film a short video on stage wishing him well. The staff here goes above and beyond for their patrons! Visit Hecklers if you’re in town for vacation, or a local that hasn’t...

Went for their wing night last night, good deal on wings but it’s very loud, you basically have to shout your conversation. Then they completely gouge you on the dips, $1.75 for a 1 oz side of blue cheese which was not even enough for half my wings…more people need to complain about this so they get the message that it is not ok. I asked for the manager to complain and instead of just bringing me another side of blue cheese on the house, she treated me like a child and defended the ridiculous side charge saying they had to charge that because the wings were so cheap. The manager was smug and annoying and made us feel like we were the problem. We’ve been going here on and off for wing nights for the past 15 years and we spend over $200 on beer and wings every time we go, but we will not be back…all for a $1.75 side of blue cheese. Oh, and the server tried to gouge us by reprinting the most expensive bill and giving it to multiple people in our group. I left there with the feeling that I’d...

I like this place for it's wing nights, but I wouldn't go to another comedy show there. There was somebody who worked there running around telling anyone who whispered to stop (whether someone was on stage at the time or not), it was super distracting and they kept walking in front of everyone. I understand telling people to stop if they're being loud and obnoxious, but the people in the tables surrounding me I couldn't even hear, whereas he was much louder and would walk in front of us if someone nodded and laughed. Which is ridiculous. It made it very difficult to have a good time. I spoke to other people there who felt the same way as I did, and others even got up and left. I was tempted to, but stayed. Only ones heckled here are the paying customers- whether quiet or not- though I can't imagine he wasn't distracting to the comedians as well, since one even mentioned him. In conclusion, until that changes I won't be...

The only reason I keep returning to Hecklers is because of the AMAZING service and the wings are seriously OFF THE CHARTS YUMMM Trust me! It is well worth venturing out of the typical down town scene to venture into the gorge neghbourhood. Lock your car doors, ignore the riff raff outside and give it a chance because once you get inside the vibe is unparalleled by your average neighborhood pub. Thursday nights they have a local band Highwater that is like none other. They perform sexy jazzy covers with such talent, its absolutly captivating! Just wait until you witness thier reggae style rendition of Neil Youngs Harvest moon...... it will leave you with goosebumps I promise! Last but not least, the staff here are top notch. Always friendly and efficient and beyond accommodating.

5 Stars for comedy nights. 2 stars for food for anyone with food issues. It’s a bar, so you would expect choices to be limited; however, other similar spots in the city have gluten-free options (if you have no food issues, then you’ll enjoy nachos, burgers, and chicken fingers). Add the fact that you must be at comedy nights a minimum of an hour before the show starts (earlier if you want a good seat), it leaves a lot of time to watch others eat. All that said, having comedy alive somewhere in Victoria is MUCH more important than catering to us food-challenged attendees. Hecklers has hosted some amazing comics and it’s a rare night you don’t leave with sore sides from laughing. One note: Friday’s can be a bit more rowdy.
