Marché de la Gare de Sherbrooke — Attraction in Sherbrooke

So for the last three years of my bachelor's degree, I've lived steps away from this Market. I've made it a point to visit on a weekly basis to get some fresh meats and cheeses and the occasional french baguette. Now the issue I've faced over and over again that has TAINTED my experience is the one or two very rude employees. Specifically the young woman who works behind the cheese counter. As a customer you expect a certain degree of politeness and information concerning the food you're buying, but this woman belittled my questions, and made fun of my "french" and also went out of her way to be unkind. She also on more than one instance made comments about the sizes/portions we would buy as if the smaller portions were somehow taboo. Usually, it isn't good business or customer service to do treat people this way. Now, because I believe in supporting local foods from the "terroir" I have continued to shop here despite the select encounters because as I mentioned their local foods are amazing. A suggestion I have for the business is to re-evaluate some of their employees, and to really enforce "customer service" as it's a shame that such a lovely business is being tainted by a select few employees. All this being said, there was one particular man working behind the meat counter who was EXTREMELY polite, and informative. So it isn't all the employees. I do however encourage you to try their foods and don't hesitate to keep asking questions despite my own...

To start, at all times there are 3 stores inside, one specialized in desserts, one in meats and the other in bakery...they all do great service to their customers, you got so much choice in each of them and food is cooked/preped daily in front of you from locally sourced products and animals. To add to that, there are plenty of little shops that sets up camp on the outside just next to the main building. They range from knitting artisanal dish drying towel passing by Christmas trees and ornaments during winter to delicious treats, foods, drinks ahhha man, you just have to visit you will be pleased and get some fresh air (since a next to a huge park where walking...

Great selection of local products. Friendly and helpful customer service. Free parking up to 45 minutes for customers. Only concern is it is a bit cramped inside, so people with limited mobility may have issues BUT at least there are no stairs.

Located in an old train station which has been converted into a couple shops and a restaurant, and is within walking distance of downtown Sherbrooke, right next to Lac des Nations. Throughtout the year (but mostly in the summer) you will also find local produce and other various local products being sold outdoors under the Pavillions.
