Beautiful place to stroll. There are a number of paths to choose from. The trees are beautiful this time of year [September]. The squirrels were particularly amusing - chattering at us to stay away while they were hiding their winter stash of pine-cones and such. Was such a warm day there were quite a few kids in the playground - nice to hear them laughing and squealing. The climb to the higher slide is all by rope webbing, so make sure your kids are good climbers before letting them graduate to it. The smaller slide has your traditional climbing ladders. The spray park wasn't running (covid? Or too late in the year?) But it looks like it would be awesome - make a point of going earlier in the year too. As well, over the winter there is ice skating available. Lots of isolated bench areas to look out over the water and bird watch. Don't let the colour of the water set you back. The green colour and things that look like weeds are supporting aquatic life. Only drawback for us was most benches overlooking the water are on a medium slope which makes them difficult if your group includes a wheelchair (me) - and and hazardous and/or unaccessible in a walker or those using canes. But there are lots of resting places other than those. I didn't check for handicapped washroom facilities -...
Read moreFantastic playground for kids of all ages. There is a pirate ship play area for kids less than 3 with two slides and other activities.
An intermediate climbing structure and three slides for those older than 3.
An advanced rope ladder and tall slide for those who are over 7 ... even 16 year old kids like to climb it and go down the slide.
Adjacent to this play area is a spray park with lots of water features to absolutely drench anyone who wants to play within.
Lots of picnic tables, a pond for geese and ducks to look at, a set of picnic tables with shade structures at the top of a hill, paths for walking, sand box areas for kids to play in, a sandbox area that is set up for net sports like badminton or volleyball, baby swings, normals swings, and a couple other specialty swings.
The play area is very popular and can be very busy on weekends. But there is a lot of parking available due to the other community structures...
Read moreGreat place to take the family with little children. The playground is extraordinary. They have a sand pit with mechanical digging. It also has a water spray park with slides. This is a great place for all ages up to 10-12. They have a section for toddlers and a concrete slide. They have a picnic area, don't recall if fire pits are available as we brought our small BBQ.
You are near a recreational centre and ice rink. For additional sections that are within the playground area, one can rent/reserve an outdoor seating area with a kitchenette.
Need to get there early as it is on a first come first take basis.
Recommend the 3 or 4 picnic tables on the hill by the playground. These are difficult to attain as they are extremely popular.
Enjoy your time and please clean up after...
