This review is for the new fenced-in dog park at Bear Creek off of King George Blvd where an old parking lot used to be (i believe?). I’ve included photos with my review. I find the rest of Bear Creek great and I’ve been there plenty of times over the years but since this dog park is new, I thought I would share my own 2 cents.
It took me a while to find this “new fenced-in dog off-leash area”...i only found out about it through the City of Surrey website after looking for new dog parks to take my dog to. I was excited when I found out that Bear Creek finally had one since the park is in a centralized area and there would probably be plenty other dogs for him to play with.
It took me a while to find this off-leash area. I circled the whole park until I accidentally stumbled upon it on my way back to my car. There was no information or map online nor were there any updates on their maps on-site or any signage to guide you. I was beginning to think it did not exist.
So we finally found it and it’s big enough for dogs to run around in. There are some huge logs and rocks for dogs to jump on and play on but the ground is all GRAVEL. Not the worst but certainly not the best either... i think dogs would enjoy grass more. There’s no division for small vs large dogs which doesn’t bother me but may bother some. There’s also remnants of the old parking stalls which they haven’t taken out at all...they probably don’t intend to.
The biggest turn-off was the gravel for sure. A nice future addition would be some sort of water fountain for the dogs...and grass. Plenty of potential for them to hopefully upgrade some time..otherwise I don’t see myself coming here as much. Also, some signage and map updates (online and on-site) so more people are aware of this...

Read moreI did not see bears, I did see creeks. I was not looking to meet single bears in the area though anyways, seeing as I just went through a breakup with my toxic girlfriend I'd been with for two years. I can't seem to find somebody I'm compatible with and I think a lot of the blame lands on my shoulders. Repeating old patterns with codependency and an avoidant attachment style is difficult to navigate. It's not all on me though. Don't even get me started on the dumpster fire the dating world has become. People turned into a commodity through a plethora of quick firing, easy to use, yet empty of meaningful connection flashy apps like Tinder, Bumble, FB dating, the list is endless. Sigh, but I digress. Go take a walk around Bear Creek park to get your mind off her; you shouldn't have to worry about the pressure of meeting any bears looking for one-night stands out there, I didn't anyways. Good luck and have fun out there gang! And like I always say "if the bears don't find ya handsome, at least they'll find ya handy. Stay hard and carry the boats because there is only one you out there so trust your gut and keep on...
