A peaceful place filled with unique flowers, bushes and trees. Inside will be found a collection of exotic plants that have been delivered here from around the world. Outside, in the summer, there are the perennial gardens with a plethora of plants that can grow and thrive in our northern climate. The greenhouses are being renovated (2022) and the renovations will eventually bring new life to the main building, but for this summer, it is still open for everyone's enjoyment. Bring a book on a cold winter day; enjoy a cup of tea under the lemon tree; check out the newest blooming flowers. Each week brings new things to discover. I hope the city will continue to expand their vision for this hidden jewel! Open up the cactus room, add a coffee shop or gallery store...fix the road so that the elderly from Hogarth can be wheeled over safely. If you are looking for information about the place, check out the Friends of the Thunder Bay Conservatory...

When I went to visit it was closed due to Covid even though google said it was open. Met the Curator and another lovely lady who informed me of all the super cool things they do (like gardening and harvesting) with children during the summer and fall, the plants and fruit trees you get to see, the cacti area (which I really wanted to see) and the bees! Because I couldn’t go in, they informed me of other things to check out in the nearby parks, and about the honey bees /hives they have. My experience went from sad to miss out on an experience; to being enriched by conversing with the two ladies and being able to fall in love with a whole new part of Thunder Bay! Thank you for changing a negative experience into something I will...

Warm and green. Felt like a lush jungle almost. Very soothing and relaxing. Groundskeeper was friendly. Interesting range of trees and plants. Hopefully the cactus section is open again at some point. You can do the tour in 5 minutes or spend an hour look at each specimen. Flowering plants and trees with fruit. A sitting bench in the corner allows you to immerse yourself in the experience. Highly recommended if in the mood for warm happy peaceful place that gets you out of the city while in the city. I'd imagine the mood boosting properties will significant in the dead of winter, what a hidden gem and looking forward to visiting again. Bring coins for the wishing...

I really like this place, only visited twice and definitely want to come back here when it's all done up fancy like the plan I have in the pictures. Lots of different plants and flowers, they were all so pretty and cool. I loved all the tiny decor, like the mini fairy garden. I found the little name plates were nice and useful, but wish they were all on all the plants, cause some plants were not identifiability. Loved how some of the trees had fruits there, so you could see them growing. It's to bad the green house area was closed, but nice you could look in still to see all the succulents. I highly recommend you visited with family and friends.

It is a beautiful little place. Coming from a tropical country, it was just fun to see a lot of familiar plants and trees inside. It is free but you could leave a donation in a donation box right in the entrance. The tropical plants are nothing new to us but the different cactus that they have are very new for us but that side was close and we didn’t get the chance to see them up close.
