Went to get a coffee with my boyfriend before we headed to the hospital for his doctor appointment, we decided to go through five through because there was no line up. We both ordered a coffee so two double doubles. We got up to the window and got charged around $3.85 and the lady gave him one double double and then the window closed. Me and my boyfriend sat there and waited for our other coffee, she then open the window with her hand on top of the other double double coffee and asked if she could help us and my boyfriend replied that we were waiting for another double double that we ordered. She then replied I only charged you for one. $3.85 FOR A MEDIUM COFFEE?!? Then she told us that we had to pay again for another medium coffee, we had no time to sit and talk to a manager at the time so I told her that we were going to call. Later on that day after the appointment I called and asked to speak to a manager, the man that was manager then told me to call the next day and talk to another supervisor. I called and then the lady told me to tell her around the time I came in, how much I paid and my name so another supervisor could call me the next day so they can look in the system and video cameras. The next day came around and I waited and nobody got back to me. Read moreMy husband and I came in today before work. He ordered me a medium white hot chocolate with 2 espresso shots. Once I got to work which is over an hour away I called and spoke with a man who claimed to be the manager and said his name was Jaet. I called and said I came in earlier today and got the wrong order. I received a coffee rather than what I had ordered. I didn’t even ask for a replacement of what I had paid for at that time, and he instantly started saying “without the cup or a receipt I can’t prove I bought it and there are policies that you cannot come in and say your coffee was wrong. If you don’t have proof of payment or the cup I can’t do anything because too many people lie just for a free coffee” I worked as a manager at Tim Hortons in Thunder Bay for 8+ years and I know that it doesn’t matter which Tim’s you go to if they made a mistake you replace it. I worked an hour and a half away and didn’t hold onto the cup for my 12 hour shift and like most people, my husband didn’t get a receipt. The way he treated me and honestly would do anything to help was disappointing. I felt as if I was being called a liar. I come there every morning and night I never call when there is a mistake but when it’s your morning coffee you want it to be right. I’m a paying customer and the way he treated me was unkind. Then you have some that are there JUST for the job. And outright LIE to you when you confront them. I order a VERY specific drink. I've drank daily and know what it looks like. So when it's darker than what it should I'll call it out. I was told I'm wrong and to just drive away. Yeah. If this wasn't one on my way to another location then I would avoid here. BUT it's not just this location. Nipigon Tim Hortons is the by far THE WORST Tim Hortons I've ever been to.
The absolute WORST ISSUE I HAVE... is to the staff that are stealing my money to act as a tip. Every day I have to put out my hand when I pay in cash and ASK... YES ASK for my change back. I'll pay and before they give you the change they'll hand you your drink. THIS IS WRONG AND IT'S THEFT. If I don't want my change. I'LL SAY IT. Not just assume and take it.
Tips are for staff who make below min wage. You can ALLLLLLL argue this with me. But that's why it was there in the first place. To adjust for the balance of wait staff. Wait staff go above and beyond to serve me and take care of my needs. Not hand me a drink and expect a 20% tip lol.
