Countdown Escape Rooms Thunder Bay — Attraction in Thunder Bay

Really fun and different activity for families or groups. So far I have only done The Will,which is one of the easier rooms but still very challenging and fun. The rooms are very well designed and the puzzles are challenging but logical. I believe that the currently have 4 rooms and are expanding to 6. You don't actually have to escape in every room. In some you just solve a mystery. Some are quite scary and some not at all

The staff are very friendly and helpful. You can ask for hints at any time although we decided not to. They will also let you know if something silly is preventing you from solving a puzzle. For instance we searched an object completely but a clue was stuck in it in an unusual way and we were unable to solve the mystery. She encouraged us to have another look

We went as two adults, a twelve year old and a nine year old. It is great to mix ages because you get to see how different generations think. The adults mostly solved the first few puzzles and the kids seem confused. Just when we thought it was to hard for them they realized that it was like a real life video game and from that point on I often did not even have time to read all of the clues before they had it solved

Perfect for bad...

Went for family's first try at an escape room. Turns out the room had not been reset properly. We were left with literally unsolvable puzzles, and were refused a refund despite the fact that they did not provide the service/experience we paid for. Avoid at all costs; if your experience is negative, they'll steal your money anyway.

In reply to the owner's response; there was not 'A' problem, there were minimum 4 times in which we were left with an unsolvable puzzle. Also, the "alright" you were given on the phone was an acknowledgement of your intent to steal our money anyway, not an endorsement. Visited on August 14, 2021 and did The Will. Our room had numerous errors and ultimately we could not have solved the room in the way you are supposed to without randomly trying lock combinations. Staff was apologetic as we were visibly upset. My family would have appreciated a refund but they do not offer them. The Manager offered us a discount on our next visit, but blamed a staff shortage which I found unprofessional.
