Best paddle board beach in Tofino. Zero waves so its great even for SUP beginners. I paddle boarded out and around the islands - over 6kms and never reached waves. The water is crystal clear and no seaweed until you get out to the odd clump of kelp. The water line has some areas of crushed shells so can be hard on the feet, kids might want to wear water shoes. Not a very busy beach due to the fact there is only a very tiny public parking lot - its mostly only the guests of the few resorts on the property. Other than the areas of shells along the water line - the sand is very soft and clean. I didn't find this beach until my most recent trip to Tofino but now that I know its there it will be my #1 paddle board...
Read moreQuite a large beach with sitting areas and a net to play sports like volleyball. The main part of the beach has sand on it and also does in the water so you don't need to worry about rocks or bringing water shoes.
This beach is perfect for walking and running. And the water is mostly calm (it has it's moments) so you can swim. Though watch out for the current as this is the ocean and the ocean has currents.
The beach is also really clean from garbage so that is a lovely surprise and makes me happy.
If you have a chance to go in the morning, a morning walk is lovely to do and so calming...
Read moreReally chill beach mote for swimming paddle boarding, and, of course, tide pooling! Highly recommend checking the beach out allowed tide and poking around the rocks for sea critters. Thoroughly enjoyed spending time taking photos and checking out the tide pools. . And now for a bathroom review: Bathroom at the public parking lot was... interesting. Was not a fan. I'd almost rather pee in the bush than on a metal toilet with not toilet seat....
