Day in the life of a vacation pup! I don't think Moka has ever had a day that she's loved as much as these, at Ocean Village 🤎 🐶 #dogfriendlybc #dogfriendlytravel #oceanvillageresort #oceanvillagetofino #exploretofino

I loved this place! I chose to treat myself for my birthday with a two-night stay during my travels, but in the end, I stayed four nights because I felt so comfortable. It was a bit pricey, but compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at, it offered much better value — cleaner, more beautiful, and friendlier staff! I really liked the location, although getting around without a car can be a bit inconvenient if you want to explore nearby areas. The pool and hot tub were great, the laundry service (3 CAD) was very convenient, and the young, friendly team made my stay even better. Special thanks to Sebastian, Lauren & Jordan! And a big thank you for the birthday gift — that truly delighted me. If I have to suggest small improvements (and of course there’s always something): my room had a few spiderwebs and a couple of spiders. Nothing major, but a little extra attention there would make it perfect. I also had some difficulties accessing the pool area, as sometimes only one of the two doors (the men’s) was working, so I had to try several times. But it was always worth it.

Great views right on the ocean. We love the beach here, the rooms are pretty well kept. Very clean. And the staff are great too. Addendum; after 3 days we asked for our room to be cleaned as it was sandy, the floors were really dirty and our bed even had sand in it. We have a dog and we spend a lot of time at the beach so we expect the sand. When they came in we were away but all they did was change the towels and take the garbage (didn't even take the recycling!?). Didn't clean the floors and didn't change the bedding so we just did it ourselves. For the price we pay a quick room clean would have made a huge difference for us. Run a vacuum through it. Also there were a few things "broken". The window by the bed had no screen so we could not leave it open and the sliding screen door was ripped open so we had to keep the sliding door closed as well (for both bugs and the dog). It's a beautiful place but a bit more attention to detail should be payed (not a big deal but the toilet was installed crooked for example). Especially for the price.

Here's my updated review after a 2 day stay:

A Lackluster, Overpriced, and Contemptuous Tofino Experience

My recent stay in Ocean Village Resort Tofino was profoundly disappointing, highlighting a pervasive issue of greed and a shocking lack of care from certain establishments. From the outset, attempts to contact the property for a reservation were met with unanswered calls, a clear precursor to the lackluster service that followed.

Upon arrival, the same indifferent attitude prevailed, leading to a truly subpar experience. The cabin itself was rundown and smelled musty and gross, furnished with what appeared to be mediocre, used garage sale/Walmart items, including a beat-up, lopsided smelly couch. It was as if they'd simply appeased guests with whatever discarded items they could find. Wood was splintering, nails were sticking out, and doors, including the front screen door, didn't even close properly, leaving significant gaps for large spiders to crawl in. This pathetic, sad effort starkly contrasts with the exorbitant prices charged, screaming an attitude of "give us your money, we don't care."

Paying approximately $1600 for two nights is utterly ridiculous, especially when the service, attitude, concern for guests, and amenities fail to match such a premium. Simply having a Tofino view does not justify this level of neglect and exploitation.

I mean... look at these rusty nails sticking out ready to set someone up for a tetanus shot. You think the owners here care about your stay in any way? They don't even care about your well being. The only thing that is of concern to the owners here is stripping you of your money for an unworthy experience. It is pure contempt and greed.

This place is frankly disgusting. The owners are undeniably greedy, and their refusal to offer any local rates further solidifies this impression. It was a truly gross experience, and I would not stay there again even if paid to do so. The sheer greed seen in Tofino from places like this, coupled with their obvious contempt for guests, is unacceptable. Any excuse from the owner would not wash; the level of avarice is...

I would have to say the worst hotel staff ever ! the room was not cleaned properly , and we asked for fresh sheets and towels after showing mid week , after a long easter weekend ...stuff gets missed ..sand in bed, dirty sheets , (understandable) the cleaning manager verbally attacked my wife from Colombia told her she doesn't understand english, which she fully does.. who was just asking for the room to be freshened up a bit .. this cleaning manager was acting like a pitbull and at the end of the conversation said " Go back to Alberta! " .. I was shocked and appalled. I hope every Albertan or anyone who sees this ...stays far away from these overpriced cabins, with a privileged staff who doesn't want to do their job .. oh ..ps she called the RCMP on us a few hours later and I told him the exact thing i'm telling everyone . he laughed and said sorry about the cleaning managers treatment to you and your wife and our newborn baby have a safe trip home, sorry I wasted your time . ...

update the cleaning manager ( Dena Cole) responded to this statement that we followed a staff member home is reason why she called the police ( oh yeah ...this is totally what we do, following staff members home .. over wanting clean sheets) bahaaa.. what and absolute lie, my wife and i were mean to the staff ? really ?? .. we were half way back to Parksville .. and to say this is ..is appalling and disgusting , that the owner resort is allowing this nasty person of "Dena Cole " to be...any sort of management ! and make false accusations ! this is a heads up people who you are dealing with .. stay far away from this place,if they go to the lengths of not admitting they were in the wrong . idios ! way to ruin my wife's first impression of Tofino.. there was zero covid protocol in place for cleaning .. it's simple enough .. they don't want people at their resort during covid times and want nothing to do with tourists . and go to this far extent of treating customers like trash ! this is defiantly not Canadian hospitality ! cheers thanks again for telling me to go home to Alberta .. when i'm...

Gave 5 stars for service, amenities, location, size, price, and all the added perks!!

We stayed in number 3 (upper level). The open concept is large and inviting. We were treated to a bottle of wine and a hand written card from staff to celebrate a birthday. A very lovely and touching sentiment. This place has it all. Whether you need a bit for R&R, a weekend get away with the kids, a sojourn with the pup, a romantic surprise for your significant other.

The grounds are situated right on the ocean front, the waves are soothing and inviting. There's all sorts of activities from, beach combing, playing in the sand, romantic walks on the beach, fetch with fido or sunbathe. They also offer a large game of tic-tac-toe, chess, lawn bowling, boche, some great tunnels to explore in the hedges, a handmade porch swing, indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, some indoor puzzles and games for rainy days and a massive industrial sized BBQ under sun/rain cover. The location is great as well you could ride or walk down to grab some coffee or enjoy a bite to eat at tacofino just across the way.

We were able to view a one bedroom. The 1 bedroom was cute and quaint. The sofa situated to maximize the views. If you choose to have the seperate living space and bedroom this would work great for you. We stayed in the bachelor style upper suite.we found the open concept, large and inviting. anywhere you are, you were welcomed with the beautiful ocean view. The bed was amazingly comfortable, the toiletries were by sea wench and smelt amazing, the couch was comfortable and included extra blankets and pillows hidden away if needed.

The customer service was impeccable. We were warmly welcomed and the check in process was smooth, quick and we were opening the door to our room in no time. We visited the front desk. Few times for various reasons and she was always there, friendly smile and inviting.. I can't say enough about how incredible this place was to visit.

I would highly recommend this place. Gave 5 stars for service, amenities, location, size, price point, and all the...
