We spent four nights at the "Wick" on our trip to Tofino and found ourselves in a nest of luxury and gorgeous views. In booking, I spoke to an agent who helped me choose between the beach building and the Point. I was thrilled with the outcome--third floor, immediate beach access, utter tranquility. Go for third floor rooms if you can as the views are ever-changing with the tides and rocks. It's a different view each day. The Wick is all about simple luxuries: the bedding was unbelievably comfortable and beautiful. A small flask of port greeted us in the room upon our arrival. Our luggage was brought up and stowed in the room while we strolled the beach. Every request was treated with a warm smile and expediency. Everyone seemed to genuinely care about our stay and comfort. The tub facing the ocean was a serene experience. Lighting a candle and soothing away through the evening was pure indulgence. It's not extravagant luxury--but rather high quality, refined rustic elegance. From the shampoos to the linens, to the care they take with a clean and perfect room. We had meals in the Point, at the Driftwood cafe and in room service. Always there was and careful attention to freshness and presentation. We had a delicious meal at the Point with a sculptural dessert I will not soon forget. Even the ham and cheese sandwich at the Driftwood was wonderful--fresh bread, a homemade and simple feast. Our cocktails were bright and refreshing. The only advice I would have is to perhaps be more bold with the flavour. Our beet salad and a apple crepe breakfast lacked memorable flavours and boldness I would have appreciated. If you stay, you can book a table by the window at the Point and enjoy stunning views while the servers cater to your individual tastes and desires. They all seemed to relish their roles and we enjoyed meeting the international staff. The kitchen even called up to ask if they could do anything for us. We just felt so beautifully cared for throughout our stay. Yes, the rooms reflect the five star hotel category. Yet, the Wick is memorable at every touchpoint, and I've been a travel writer for many years. Upon check-out we were given a bag with water and apples for our onward journey. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so perfect.

My husband and I stayed here for our 10 year wedding anniversary and it was a wonderful stay. We showed up around 10am, as we were coming from Ucluelet, and they happily stored our luggage while we explored the island. When we came back for actual check-in the hotel staff remembered our names and had everything ready to go. Our bags were already nicely stored in our room and they even had a cute jar of jam as an anniversary gift. Additionally, they provided a complimentary basket of yummy snacks and a tasting of port. Now for the room. Talk about a wow factor! We were on the top floor corner unit with a view of Chesterman Beach and the little cove to the right. I could literally stare at that view all day. The room had binoculars, which was perfect because we saw some sea otters a few times and loved watching them. Additionally, the staff was amazing. They were all so friendly and always willing to answer questions and show us around the property. We also took the complimentary bikes out for an early morning beach ride in the fog. One of the nights, we got super lucky and got to enjoy summer solstice and the strawberry moon during our stay. We enjoyed a lovely dinner with their tasting menu at The Pointe Restaurant. The food and service were exceptional. We also were pampered at the Ancient Cedars Spa. They have the most adorable beach side cottage for couples massages. I would highly recommend staying at the Wickaninnish Inn!

We had been to Wickaninnish Inn twice before, staying both times in a Premier Room in the Pointe Building. Obviously we loved our experiences as we decided to make a third trip and spent five nights in late March, this time in the Beach Building in the Chesterman Beach Loft. We had high expectations but did not anticipate how absolutely 'wowed' we would be in spite of almost five days of inclement weather. The room was beyond anything we had imagined. The views from all rooms were extraordinary. The room amenities were exceptional. Staff support was flawless. A special shout-out to the t.v. technician (I think his name was Logan) who assisted us diligently with a minor t.v. problem. There are so many small touches throughout the suite that made it special, but I was specially taken with the actual tree branches that served as stairway balusters. We came resigned that this would be our last trip (over 2,000 miles for us) due to our age and finances. But we came away determined to return at least once more to enjoy the Chesterman Beach Loft, the casual elegance of the Inn, and the incredible natural environment surrounding it. I do need to include one caveat to someone reading this and considering the Chesterman Loft. Noise does travel from the lower floor up to the bedroom area. It would be extremely difficult for someone trying to sleep if children or a partner were watching t.v. or chatting downstairs.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Wickaninnish for 4 glorious days and 5 peaceful nights and the experience from start to finish was nothing short of perfection. It started out with calling a few times to discuss availability with their reservations team. I spoke on the phone to a few different ladies who were all very pleasant, one named Jean went over the different room options and hotel facilities with me. I had to think it over and weight the options with my partner. When I did decide what room I was interest in, I called back and had the pleasure of speaking with a woman named Krista. She was very informative and alerted me to some highway construction along the way to Tofino. I phoned back a few days later to make a dinner reservation and had a delightful conversation with a very charming girl, Jamie. She then got me in touch with the Spa where Elizabeth booked myself and my partner in for a massage. I emailed back and forth with Antoine the concierge, and eventually called and spoke with Jen. She booked me for a bear watch, kayaking trip, and a dinner at Schooner (delicious by the way!). All of the staff I encountered on the phone were so polite and professional, I was so excited to meet everyone in person and relax! The day finally came for us to check in, and we were met on the drive way but a woman whose name I did not catch, who checked our vaccine passports (thank you! We felt so safe at your establishment, and completely respect the choice you've made to try to keep your community and employees safe), and were met at the doors by a charming fellow named Ron who helped us with our bags. We were shown to our room by a wonderful man named from Brazil. He pointed out the TV, let us know that there was a small bottle of port for us as well as a few other room features. The view was breathtaking, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and we made very good use of the luxurious bathtub. We were still on Atlantic time and found ourselves awake and in need of coffee very early in the morning. The nespresso machine was wonderful, but it was too early for that! We wandered down to the lobby and were delighted to find a pot of freshly brewed coffee, and a chatty fellow by the name of Jon who let us know that the weather was maybe going to be a bit better in a few days but would likely be raining more often than not. We headed for brunch when we had our wits about us and were overjoyed to meet the lovely Jamie herself in person! Our server was a very sweet young man named Dylan who recommended the salmon rosti, and my goodness, it was impeccable. A cheery gent named Koi made us the most delicious mochas we'd ever had. I knew if brunch was this good, dinner would be spectacular. I was not wrong. I don't remember exactly what we had, aside from the tasting menu, all I know is that it was divine. Our server Emma was incredible. She was so sweet, very knowledgeable, didn't make us feel out of place for being slightly confused about what we were eating. Compliments to the chefs and all the kitchen staff who made the meal so delicious. We tried the cafe several times during our stay and were amazed every time. The pastries are delicious. To all the cafe servers Rose, Madeline, Jess, James, thank you for being the highlight of our mornings. A sweet young man named Daniel helped us get bikes for an afternoon as well, and Caitlin told us about the art in the little gallery. The massages were outstanding. Jodie and Melissa, you outdid yourselves! When the time came to check out, Fowad and Francis helped with bags and to settle our bill, and sent us on the way with apples. Thank you to everyone we met and whose names we didn't have room to mention. We truly cannot wait...

I have literally never written a review on a public forum and stay at the finest, most reputable properties on special occasions. If any feedback needs to be given it is done so privately, which was the case here to begin with. I have to let this one be known. We carefully decided to spend our honeymoon at The Wikininnish Inn this past July, after being charmed by the photos, website and promises at the time of booking for a world-class, relaxing, tranquil, luxury experience. You have to travel a LONG way if you are not flying right into the regional airport, so this was not only a financial investment, but also one of time and effort. We chose Tofino because we found this property. Most of the staff were extremely professional and warm, and it felt like a good value when we arrived/checked into our 2nd floor (gorgeous view) room. However, there was a multi-family party of guests staying directly above us who, over the course of our stay, interrupted our peace, serenity, relaxation, and anything you can imagine happens on a honeymoon at all hours of the day and night. There was no bath, reading, writing, talking, sleeping, meditation, or “other things” you do in a luxury Inn on your honeymoon that did not get interrupted. We had terrible sleep because of the foot traffic noise above and couldn’t wait for a couples massage at Ancient Cedars Spa. You know, the one advertised and marketed as facing that gorgeous body of water and trees? Nope. Beds face the door-the opposite of what is advertised. When we checked in, I asked that if between the two professionals, if one was able to deeper pressure work, that they be paired with my husband. After what I guess was some miscommunication, I got knuckled and elbowed beyond any sort of relaxation treatment I’ve ever experienced (and I have experience). It was brought to the Director of Spa, Jeanette, who then offered if we were to come back, would give me a complimentary massage. Besides the astonishingly gorgeous views on the property, it was a huge disappointment. Tyler, a front of house professional, went above and beyond to try to talk to the families above about the noise, and help pacify the experience..as did other members of the team with truffles and notes and such. We really appreciated that. However, one of the front desk managers as well as Jeanette used language like “thank you for understanding”, or explaining that it’s best if you want the kind of experience they advertise, to avoid the summertime and to stay on the 3rd floor! There is nothing to understand or justify when you pay that kind of money ON YOUR HONEYMOON. I suggested they disclose the potential experience for people with very special occasions like us at time of booking. We would have gladly booked the 3rd floor if we knew anything about the noise issues to begin with. Finally, after a LOT of back and fourth email correspondence with Jeanette, her offer to re-do the massage if we return and upgrade us to 3rd floor if we book the second floor again, and our decision not to return….she UNWELCOMED us back!!!! Even on the most economical properties worst days, have we ever been treated this way. This is definitely not a world-class, 5 star establishment where your experience matters. Just wanted to warn anyone else out there planning on visiting this place with expectations of serenity and relaxation in the summer, unless I guess, you book the...

Over the past week our party of 7 ate at The Pointe Restaurant three times because we enjoyed it that much the first and second time. I would definitely recommend a visit here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time! We didn't make resos for our second dinner visit (and it was over the Canada long weekend, which was an oversight on our part) so they were only able to accommodate us in the lounge area with only the lounge menu. For our first visit we had made a reservation a month in advance. Unfortunately, they were unable to seat us together, so we split out group into 3 and 4. The ocean-front view is gorgeous during dinner time with the sun setting in the distance. The Tonquin Smash which is a ginger beer is the best (non-alcoholic) ginger beer I have ever had. I ordered the scallops off the tasting menu and the other two guests sitting with me ordered the halibut. My scallops dish was exquisite. The scallops were cooked perfectly with a nice crust and the center was nice and juicy. The other two who ordered the halibut had some difficulty eating it because the fish was really dry and it would stick to their teeth. We sent those two dishes back and ordered the salmon and ling cod in its place. Even though there was a slight hiccup in the food, the service was remarkable the whole time. Our server, Nolan, bent over backwards to make sure we enjoyed our experience. For dessert we had the Chocolate Terrarium. It was a very cute dish which looked exactly like something from the forest floor. If you're a dark chocolate lover then you will surely enjoy this dish. Our second visit over the week was for breakfast/lunch. No reservation is needed as long as you go in fairly early (say around 11am). I would definitely recommend trying their eggs bennies. I ordered the smoked salmon and cream cheese eggs benny. The eggs were poached perfectly and the potato rosti had an excellent crispy skin and fluffy interior. For our last visit, as mentioned, we didn't make dinner resos, however they were nice enough to accommodate us in the lounge area. We tried splitting our group up again but they said due to a high volume in reservations we weren't allowed to order from the regular tasting menu which was disappointing since that's the reason we went back. The lounge menu consisted mostly of finger food which we shared amongst our group and not much of it stood out to me. I was quite disappointed over the span of dinner since I saw some empty tables and I kept thinking that we could have had the food we wanted if they had allowed us to be split separately. That was my little grudge that I held for the night. Service from our server Ronnie was great otherwise. Our previous server, Nolan, came over to say hi which was really nice of him. Overall, our experience there was truly memorable and I'm sure our whole party would recommend anyone to go visit The...
