Active Kids Zone — Attraction in Toronto

Completely shock with how disappointing my experience was as a guest at a birthday party that was hosted in this facility over the weekend. From the moment my son and I arrived we were welcomed with no direction of which room/area the party was being hosted at. The lack of attention to the drinks, and attitude from the staff was absolutely bizarre.

The staff was very inattentive and rude. My son wanted a slushy from the machine in the room and one of the girls that was there (I don’t remember their names) acted like he was bothering her as he asked if she could please get him a cup. I asked for a plate and the answer was “it’s $3” as if I was asking for pricing or as if the host of the party was unaware of the pricing of things. Although I completely understand reminding the person who booked the party of the pricing of the items, I don’t agree with them telling the guests who have nothing to do with pricing. It would have been professional of your staff to pull the host of the party aside and let them know instead of yelling it across the room. The entire time we felt unwelcome. Chairs, plates and party items were being removed rudely from guests and when I asked why the attitude the answers were “your time is almost over. You guys have to leave soon.”

Another thing that was very frustrating was the fact that your staff was providing wrongful information. As the host of the party asked how much to extend for extra time your staff said it would cost $200. However, when I went to ask myself they told me it was around $175 for an hour. We were also told that if there was extra time needed you would need to inquire prior to the event not during as they need to plan and schedule accordingly as the place is ran by high school students. However, if you don’t end up needing to stay the extra time they are unsure of whether they reimburse you or not.

As a mother of a child whose birthday is coming up I was very much hoping this place would be a hit but after this experience I would never. Definitely needs...

Great experience with our daughter’s birthday here. The place is cleaner, more spacious and with more activities than others. The staff is fabulous and helpful and easygoing. We had her birthday elsewhere last year, and the staff was not nearly as nice or as helpful with set up cake/pizza and take down. I had my nanny there, and she along with my husband and I, could just focus on watching children. The rest of the party was taken care of by Emma and her colleagues. The price was very reasonable and overall staff and management were very easy-going about how many people we had, what the kids were doing, etc. again the place we were at last year was very picky about signing waivers, having socks and exact number of Children and adults. This party was not half as stressful as the one we held the year before, thanks to active Kidzone my husband and I could actually enjoy it. We will definitely be back. We just had our daughters 5th birthday there yesterday. By far the BEST bang for your buck experience. Very well organized and they provide a helper/assistant. Her name was Hailey I believe (sorry if I'm wrong with the name we had a lot going on). She was GREAT! She helped with everything, from set up to handing out pizza to the kids and organizing announcements for kids to come eat plus clean up and helped get us packed up. The manager was very nice and helpful as well. VERY inviting environment plus never felt over rushed and uncomfortable when we accidentally ran a bit late getting out of there. All the parents felt very comfortable with their kids playing in that very safe play area. All the kids had a blast, even the young ones. Our 1.5 year old tore around that place going on everything. Parents looked relaxed knowing kids were entertained and happy. We received lots of compliments about the great venue. Thanks again staff . Definitely will be coming...
