What can I say about my recent experience at The Factory Lounge?

[TLDR] – Candidly, I would not spend your hard earned money here unless you want to partake in a venue run by egregious management and staff who are seemingly hardwired to distrust their customers and patrons.

For the sake of garnering some perspective, I logged into Google Reviews to see what everyone else have got to say about the establishment. I was very surprised to read the comments and many of which were very consistent to my previous experience at The Factory Lounge – uncommunicative staff, subpar customer service, and patrons faced with hostility at the liquor bar.

Prior to arriving at the venue, I visited the company website. In the ‘What are we all about’ section it states “At The Factory Lounge it’s all about the party and we know how to throw the best party in town! We pride ourselves in paying attention to every last detail and we will create a memorable and distinctive event you will never forget.” Bona fide clients who choose to use this venue based on the mission statement will surely be let down because:

A)The Factory Lounge really doesn’t know how to throw a party – the bar staff was underperforming their duties and crutching on excuses to deter paying customers B)There was no attention to detail because the head manager/owner was too busy arguing with people C)They claim to be the best party in town yet there is no substance. Customer satisfaction is far and few between.

Albeit, I do agree with one part of their mission statement about creating an unforgettable event. Only I would put it a bit differently, the most unforgettable thing about the event was the constant tarnishing and arguing done by the lousy team working that night.

When I asked to speak directly with the operating manager to rectify some issues surrounding the liquor agreement, I was dumbfounded because I was looking right at her: Teri Leese (Owner, Operator, Coordinator). She has been running this business for over 7 years. I am astonished by her uncooperative demeanor for someone with such tenure.

Teri had reigned over the bar staff to disadvantage their customers, she was mostly unapproachable, she was disrespectful towards our party members – just to give you some perspective. Having read this review, I urge you to reconsider choosing The Factory Lounge as your primary venue for any event. You could be faced with regret, disgruntled guests, and an unforgettably...

While the venue itself was decent, dealing with the owner was a complete nightmare. From the start, she was unprofessional, often claiming to forget previous discussions, even when we had records of our conversation. It's crucial to keep a paper trail when dealing with this venue, as she can't be trusted. She nickel-and-dimed us at every turn, including trying to charge extra for chairs that were already included in our contract.

The venue falsely advertised that it could accommodate 250 guests, but the owner later said this was only possible in a cocktail-style setup. This forced us to rent a tent for cocktail hour, an extra expense that should have been covered by the venue. On top of that, she tried to charge $75 for water to fill the tent’s jugs, even though it should have cost less than $10.

The owner also imposed many restrictive rules. She said her staff wouldn't start setting up until 2 PM, despite our wedding starting at 4 PM. While our vendors were allowed to come anytime, her numerous rules made things difficult. For example, she threatened our lights vendor with charges before they had even begun working, adding unnecessary stress. Thankfully, our coordinators stepped in to handle the situation, but this was far from the smooth experience we had hoped for.

The owner also closely monitored our caterer, who was supposed to assist with cocktail hour and was also a guest. She was not allowed to plug her equipment into the wall and was threatened with a "landmark fee" if she did. As a result, the caterer couldn’t enjoy the event and had to keep working, which was unfair.

To top it off, the owner made an inappropriate comment about one of my guests, calling them "gay." This unprofessional behavior was completely unacceptable and went against the inclusive atmosphere we wanted for our wedding.

Overall, the owner’s behavior caused constant stress before and during the wedding. She seemed more interested in finding ways to charge us extra than in making our day special. I would NOT recommend booking this venue—find a place that values, respects its clients, open to...

Had a chance to visit this place last night and have to say that I was very positively surprised! The venue was so well organized. This is my personal experience.

it was a bar mitzvah party and we arrived among the first guests. The venue inside was spectacular. Whoever did the decor, I must say blew my mind! The centrepieces on the tables, balloons, the candy station, the stage, light show were just amazing. Totally above everything that I was expecting.

The bar at the front was an open bar and there were some signature cocktails that the bartenders were making and they were delicious. At all time throughout the evening there was no line, waiting to be served. Bartenders were pretty fast, kind and friendly.

The waitstaff were also extraordinary. Very friendly, always with the smile and did everything I asked for. The express, high quality service made me enjoy this event even more. They did pretty good job with keeping the place clean and tidy throughout the evening since kids were a bit messy with food and drinks. Tables looked clean and there wasn't much of anything except glasses with drinks on the tables.

The buffet service was also excellent. Two food stations with delicious food made in the venue kitchen. The food was obviously fresh and tasty.

At the end, it was all about children. The staff that were entertaining them did an amazing job. No kids were sitting on their phones. Since they started playing the music, dancers for them up on the dance floor and kept them dancing for hours. Even adults were dancing. Kids were really, really happy!

All in all, very, very positive experience. If you are looking for a place to celebrate anything, the factory lounge would be my honest...
