Flipper's Event Space — Attraction in Toronto

Good quality food always nicely presented even if it's just a little pricey. The staff are very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Even the owners come and check on your table and see how everything is to your satisfaction. The decor is especially tastefully done with a nautical theme throughout. The salad bar is also very good as it is continuously being refreshed.

Since I last reviewed the restaurant there has been a dramatic change Starting with the sale to three Sri Lankan owners who are actively tearing apart everything that made that restaurant so quaint. Their treatment of longtime full-time staff it's deplorable by cutting their hours salad bar is gone which was a big hit for a most out of the patrons and the food is turning more ethnic as time goes on which chases some of the regulars out. The rustic feeling of an old dockside restaurant with delicious and reasonably priced fare is gone. All in all I must give this restaurant now a one star.

Sorry to say but as of June the 15th there is no more restaurant. It is currently being renovated to become the fourth banquet Hall. Another good restaurant bites...

I ORDERED BY TELEPHONE FLIPPERS SPECIAL AND PAID $28.00, IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS SOMEONE ELSES ORDER RE-COOKED AGAIN, OR JUST HEATED UP. THE ONLY TWO FOODS THAT SEEMED OK. WAS THE SOLE SEARED FISH AND THE LEMON ROASTED POTATOES. THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT OR OWNER. THE FOOD SMELLED AND TASTED MUSTY AS IF BEING LEFT IN A MUSTY BASEMENT. THEY ARE VERY ARGUMENTIVE AND CLAIM ALL THEIR FOOD IS FRESH AND COOKED LIKEWISE.....THEY,, LIKE SO MANY THAT HAVE EAST INDIAN STAFF OR CHINESE, LIKE TO TAKE OVER AND DISH OUT LEFT OVER UNEDIBLE FOODS. EVERYTHING WAS EXPLAINED OVER THE TELEPHONE HOW THE FOOD SHOULD BE DONE AND THEY AGREED TO IT, YET GAVE BE UNEDIBLE FOOD. I AM DEMANDING A PORTION OF MY MONEY BACK, IF NOT ALL. ANY REPUTABLE ESTABLISHMENT WOULD BE MOST WILLING TO REFUND MONEY THAT WAS PAID FOR A DECENT MEAL BUT NEVER GOT, ONLY FOOD THAT ONE COULD NOT EAT. STRANGE TOO THAT MOST OF THE COMMENTS HAVE SO MANY GOOD STARS ABOUT THIS PLACE.... VERY STRANGE AND FISHY TO SAY THE LEAST. I HAVE TO CALL FLIPPERS FISH HOUSE CRIMINAL FOR WHAT THEY HAD DONE TO ME, AN INNOCENT ELDERLY LADY BEING...

So surprised at all the 5 star ratings now that we've had delivery from here. I had the char chicken - it was dry and flavorless inside. The potatoes were incredibly salty. I got a side Caesar with homemade dressing and I sincerely doubt that the dressing is homemade - tastes exactly like Kraft. Not tasty at all. Big point for the real bacon though. We also ordered the Flippers special and it was also super salty. It completely detracted from the flavor of the fish. Chicken fingers are cooked from frozen and dry, French fries are so dry they're hollow. In summary, the food tasted like a cross between airplane food and wedding buffet. Bonus points for portion size and sustainable packaging but unfortnately I don't think we'll be ordering...
