We hosted a large group of ~30 people for my son’s birthday with approx half adults and half kids under the age of 8. First, we skated at McGregor Community Center across the street and then went to Nova Ristorante for some food and cake. We went for dinner ahead of time to scout the menu, location, and to plan for the party. We went on a Tuesday, when kids eat free (if adults spend $30, for up to 2 kids). Our server Vessy was so kind and pleasant - she made us and the kids feel right at home. We left detailed instructions for the day of the party, including seating arrangements and preordered food. On the day of the party, I called an hour ahead of our arrival to confirm everything was good to go. The person I spoke with didn’t seem too familiar with the party but assured me it would all be good. When we arrived, they had half the restaurant sectioned off for our group and the tables set us as discussed in advance. Kids were served pizza at the table and adults had salads and pizza buffet-style. The service was excellent and they were very attentive. We ordered more food once we could gauge how much everyone was going to eat and it came out pretty quickly. It seems the restaurant shares a kitchen with Pizza Nova next door and leverages a lot of the same ingredients but has their own unique menu. The pizzas are similar to those of Pizza Nova in terms of crust, sauce and cheese; tasty but nothing super fancy. Our group enjoyed the food and it worked well for the party. Items that were particularly good were the arugula salad and the Basilicata pizza. We brought our own cake and the restaurant provided plates and cutlery to serve with no additional charge. An auto gratuity was applied due to the size of our party. The kids were pretty rambunctious at times, running around, playing hide and seek… the staff were SO patient, and never complained. We were really grateful that they were so understanding. We planned the party for 4pm so it was basically empty and we weren’t bothering other patrons. It was excellent value for the group size and beverages are very reasonably-priced. Many of the parents who attended commented how great the restaurant worked out. We’d highly recommend the restaurant for a low-key weeknight dinner, or for larger group events. The biggest highlight was the wonderful attitude and attentiveness of the staff - that’s not always easy to find, and we will be back to support this business. Thank you for making our...
Read moreOrdered Delivery. Clearly there is a DIFFERENT COOK as what we ordered lacked in QUALITY and the cook has made his own deviation to taste SPICY when the food is not supposed to be! Had I want spicey, we would've ordered INDIAN FOOD! The rappini appetizer was supposed to be just made with garlic and slightly sauteed with olive oil however this "NEW CHEF" must be East Indian as he decided for whatever reason to put TONS of RED CHILI FLAKES and was OVERLY COOKED and so soggy when this never was served like this BEFORE!!! The penne pasta was garbage too as it was drenched in (3) types of CHEESE, gouda, mozzerella and Parm not only in the sauce but more PARM that wasn't even dissolved properly in the ALFREDO sauce that you can taste the parmesan particles in your mouth and because of too much cheese, the pasta tasted SO SOUR, yuck that I had to chuck it out! I called and spoke to a RUDE INDIAN WOMAN very IGNORANT, has NO MANNERS and doesn't even let me finish talking says WAIT a MINUTE WAIT a minute, the rappini is supposed to be made with chili and I said nope its not refusing to argue.
NO WONDER THERE HARDLY are ANY CUSTOMERS IN YOUR RESTAURANT AS EVERYTHING IS OVERPRICED AND QUALITY-LACKING! RESTAURANT IS DOING SO BAD THAT THEY ARE PUTTING A 15.00 DISCOUNT IFYOU ORDER ANYTHING OVER $50-!
MY FAMILY USED TO GO HERE OFTEN HOWEVER NOW WITH THE NEW STAFF OF "ANI" AND THE OBVIOUSLY NEW COOK WHOM I'M SURE IS ALSO INDIAN AS HE SEEMS TO DEVIATE FROM THE REAL RECIPES AND ADDS SPICE TO MOSTLY EVERYTHING, I WILL NOT BE SUGGESTING THIS PLACE TO ANY OF MY CO-WORKERS, FRIENDS, NEIGHBOURS, AND FAMILY AS I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE (0) IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ALSO (0) IN THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD!
YOU'RE BETTER OFF MAKING YOUR OWN PASTA OR EVEN ORDERING AS FRANCESCA'S LUNCH MENU OR CALABRIA AS THEY DO NOT GO DOWN IN QUALITY W/ REASONABLE PRICES!
IF THEY KEEP IT UP, I'M 100% SURE THIS PLACE WILL BE CLOSING DOWN SOON, JUST GIVE IT BEFORE THE...
Read moreThis used to be a place my wife and I would go to fairly often. Food was good and the service too. However, last night wasn’t the case. We haven’t been to the restaurant side of this place in a good while, so I guess things have changed a bit but not really for the best. The menu had shrunken down quite a bit and you can no longer order different sized pizzas if that’s what you want to order and share. You can only get a small size. So we each ordered our own, mine definitely could have been cooked longer as the pepperoni was crisped enough and was kind of slimy. Seems like they just tried to rush it and time it with my wife’s pizza but it didn’t turn out too well. The garlic bread was very garlicky but at least the ceasar salad was decent. Our server was pretty slow too. Now the place was not busy at all, there was us, a table of four and then a table of two. The server seemed to be to the only one running the floor. So for a not too busy place, I can’t see why the service was so slow. The price was a bit high too for two people to have dinner. We also order a couple of pasta dishes from here a previous time and the quality of that went down a bit too. The chickens was way over cooked and dry and the amount of food was less then before which felt like a jip because again it wasn’t cheap. I get times have changed and costs are bit higher, but for what we ordered, the cost was just too much. It’s unfortunate because this was a place we would go to often, even had our engagement party here too. Now, not too sure if we will...
