Great local Italian grocery store off Dufferin Street.

Not as big as a Metro or Fortinos, however considerably bigger than a convenience store. They have around 6 aisles for dry groceries, a back aisle for frozen goods, and the final portion of the store is dedicated to the fresh produce, meat, bakery, and delicatessen.

The store has been in service for greater than 60 years, and with good reason. While the dry grocery section can be a bit pricier than most, they make up for it given the imported goods and more niche products.

The fresh produce is absolutely amazing, and consistently fresh. The reduced section has incredible value, and often times is just as fresh as something from metro.

The bakery and hot foods are easily my favorite part of the grocery store. Always fresh, and great quality. If you go closer to end of day you can snag some pretty amazing deals for lunch/dinner the following day if you don't mind "day old" food.

While I haven't tried the delicatessen, the line is always packed so it must be good!

Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. It's also well staffed so you can always find someone to ask for help, if need be. Service is also very fast, but they don't rush you out the door either.

Great grocery store to shop in when you want a break from the bigger chains. While the overall bill might be a bit more expensive, you get the value back in both quality of food and...

This is mainly an Italian groceries with lots of fresh choices. However, my concern is not about inside but in the parking lot, I’ve been coming here for years I’ve never had issues since I’m riding my bike but every time I drive my car, an unfortunate yet disappointing thing happen. Today, I came with my car, while waiting for someone to leave an older Italian on his Mercedes came flying from dufferin straight to where I was supposed to be parking inches away from hitting me. This has been my issue since then so I rarely drive here to get grocery. I wish but I doubt the management can or would do something about someone else’s behaviour. This is outrageous and unacceptable. We know that they’re close to the grave but at least be a good role model for younger people. I hate to be like this but this behaviours triggers me...

A friend of mine recommended me to the store I was amazed looking at the grocery selections they have... However something happened which will orevent me from visiting the place again. I was at the counter and greeted the lady working there while putting my grocery at the counter... No response...! Throughout the transaction she didn't even look at the person she was serving or bothered to say hi back. I could've given her the benefit of doubt that she has sensory or social deprivation, but she was nodding and smiling at other colleagues.... I'm not saying she was racist but she for sure wasn't very welcoming to South Asians apparently. Even though I got good grocery, but that unfriendly behavior had sort if ruined my day and will keep me from going back there again.... Nice doing business with...

I really need to shop here more often despite the drive from downtown. Today I got the BEST bunch of black kale I’ve gotten or even seen in a looong time. The older gentleman stacking veg moved them around to pick a “really good one” for me - even though they all looked great. Lots of products from smaller companies including different butters and milk. There are at least 7 types of prosciutto including some imported from Italy which the ladies absolutely know how to cut thin. Last but not least, there’s the Zeppole (both fried and bakes). Lots of Nona’s and Nono’s in the store which is fun to see. I left with 4 full bags of groceries for just under $100.

Love lady York for its abundance of Italian items and been operating for over 60 years. The staff is the same, everyone has been there long term which says a lot about the operation. Never been disappointed, I go at none peak time say 10a.m-3pm and you are in and out like a flash. Everything is fresh from produce to the butcher section to the bakery section and the hot food section. Public parking is available, if you are in the area be sure to check it out.
