Visited this restaurant on a early evening with my wife and my 4 year old daughter. We heard about this restaurant from a friend and decided to try it out.
We didn’t make reservations but was promptly seated but advised that we needed to give out table up by 7pm. We arrived at about 5:10pm and and 7pm request was fine.
Upon entering we were graced with a modern atmosphere and friendly and helpful hostesses and waitresses throughout our time dining.
We heard about the Japa Burgers and ordered that, this was a wonderful flight of 3 sliders that were crafted beautifully and tasted good. I particularly enjoyed the garlic mayo that they used on these sliders. These sliders are larger then most other slider that one may be used to so just be aware of that.
The next item we ordered was the Bulgogi Tacos, these were also portioned well and we enjoyed these as it has the same garlic mayo as the Japa Burgers.
Our next item was the Nome Fried Chicken, it was nicely prepared, served hot and had a nice spice to it that provided a nice kick. A range of sauces is available with each order. We chose the sweet chilli sauce.
We ordered the 21 piece sashimi (Moriawase) and enjoyed the fresh pieces of fish and excellent presentation of the items. We did try to order the 30 piece but they didn’t have that available, most likely due to not having any other varieties of fish available. That’s fine for our meal this evening.
The next item was the Lobster Fantasy roll, we enjoyed this, but found it to be kind of normal tasting. They described this as a deep fried lobster tail roll. To be honest it could have been shrimp or deep fried crab and it would have been hard to taste the difference with all the other items on the roll.
We also ordered the Crispy Pork Belly. This item was exactly as described, crispy pork belly! It was served with seaweed paste, fresh ginger and green onions.
Our last item was the Yam Fries. This was delicious, generous portion and a hit with our 4 year old daughter.
All in all, we enjoyed the dining experience and will return. They have a wide selection of items on their menu and I can’t wait to try more. My daughter actually wanted to try the Mac and Cheese item but they didn’t have it available for our dining that evening.
Plenty of parking available at the Shops at Don Mills both covered and outdoor parking options. Thank you Nome Izakaya for the...

SO THEYRE OPEN FOR LUNCH NOW!!! & ITS SUMMER = PATIO SEASON!! THE DAILY SPECIALS ARE THE SAME I BELIEVE..BUT THEIR LUNCH MENU IS DIFFERENT FROM THE DINNER MENU. ITS NOT AS HECTIC AND BUSY AS DINNER, BUT I GUESS RESSOS FOR A LARGER GROUP IS RECCOMENDED! WE CAME BY A FEW WEEKS AGO AS A GROUP OF 8 GIRLS AND WAITED ABOUT 10 MINUTES FOR OTHER TABLES TO FINISH UP SO WE COULD SQUEEZE IN. I LIKE THAT THEYRE REALLY FLEXIBLE SEPARATE BILLS TOO. OUR SERVERS WERE MOSES AND MICHELLE. THEY WERE SO PATIENT WITH US ASKING A MILLION QUESTIONS BEFORE ORDERING... THANK YOU!!
WE SETTLED WITH A FEW BENTOS BOXES. THEY ALL COME WITH A MISO SOUP, HOUSE SALAD, A BOWL OR RICE, A WASABI COLESLAW AND AN EGG. THERES SOME DINNER ITEMS ON THERE BUT IT COMES AS THE BENTO W.THE DELICIOUS EXTRAS! WE ALL LOVED IT!
THERES A VEGETARIAN TOFU W.A VEGETARIAN MISO SOUP TOO! ACCOMMODATING OUR VEGGIE GF! LOVED THAT! I THINK THE REGULAR MISO HAD FISH BROTH IN IT..
EVERYONE'S FAVOURITE WAS THE #1. NOME SPECIAL BENTO! IT HAS A BIT OF THEIR DINNER DISHES! RIBS, SHRIMP, BAKED OYSTER, PORKBELLY, FRIED CHICKEN AND A SALMON TERIYAKI. IM NOT A SALMON FAN, BUT ONE OF THE GIRLS GOT THE SALMON BENTO AND REALLY ENJOYED IT!
THE SIDE SALAD WAS SO REFRESHING AND CRISP! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK FOR MORE NOW THAT THE SUN IS COMING OUT! GET YOUR SUNNIES READY! ITS PATIO SEASON AT THE SHOPS AT DON MILLS!
Finally got to check out their second location! Its open concept, more room to move around, same menu and deals, $1 oysters every Tuesdays & Wednesday! They added some new items like the Gyozas (fried chicken dumplings w.a truffle cream sauce), the Smoked Scallop Roll (the name says it all! It's got mushrooms and bacon in it too!) and the Spicy Shrimp Roll (shrimp lovers must try!) The only con I can think of is that they dont have the Honey Butter Corn :( but there's the Honey Butter Potatoes to satisfy the cravings. Food is the same (taste and quality, the portions are different and presentation too.) Oh and I love that their washrooms are much cleaner and more roomier! We were served by Ally and a tall bald gentleman. The staff are super friendly and polite. Great dinner tonight and great service! Nome, you have always been my favourite asian fusion bar,...

Service-6/10. the first server had no idea what's going on, couldn't answer any questions about the menu or drinks, kept saying " I'm not sure about that", which he probably quickly picked up on because a new server came to the table. The second server was nice and knew everything about the menu which was great
Drinks- drinks were good
Food - some of the things we ordered was pork belly, beef tongue, sushi. Sushi was good, pork belly had amazing texture but lacked in flavour and was still 9/10. Beef tongue on the other hand was thinly sliced rubber tire. The flavour was actually nice and charred, but I chewed the first slice for 20 seconds before I had to spit it out into a napkin bc I couldn't chew through it 💀 told the server that the dish is not possible to chew, he leaves with the plate to the kitchen, comes back to tell me that chef said "nothing wrong with it" and " it's personal preference".
Indeed, normally my personal preference is to be able to chew through the food i order at a restaurant, do you guys have a different one? I didn't day " i don't like the flavour" or " it doesn't look pretty", which would be personal preference. Chewing shouldn't be questionable, should it?
I you dont know how to cook it: boil every 500 g of tongue for 25 min+ another 25 for the whole thing, then place in cold water, then peel and only after that slice and grill it for nice char flavour. That way you will get " melt in your mouth" texture and not rubber tire you served me.
How surprised i was to see the rubber tire listed on the bill. Normally, in higher quality establishments, when such thing happens, its dealt with differently. Its either replaced/removed from bill/complimentary item. But you served me a poorly cooked impossible to eat dish and you want me to pay for it? After im told I'm the problem instead of ur chefs poorly executed dish? since being able to chew meat you serve is apparently optional at your restaurant If it was handled well, I d give this restaurant another chance, but.. Didn't pay for this excuse of a dish, tipped the nice server and def won't...
