Owners Chelsea Hulme and Cory Wilyman have created a venue with heart @ The Cardinal Gallery. And it's simply the perfect spot to host and showcase the work of talented "street" photographer Joan Latchford. My friend, Joan, shot every day folks, doing every day things and in every day places. She was both earthy and down-to-earth---just like her photos. This black and white selection from the 60s and 70s are real, vital and capture moments in time that you'll remember. Hats off to Cory for curating the exhibit from such a vast collection of photos and negatives. Kudos to this husband-and-wife team for taking a leap of faith, and gracing Toronto with a vibrant new gallery to captivate our senses...

I was fortunate to catch the most recent show, ‘One Fine Day’ at the very end of its intended run. The gallery owners were kind enough to welcome me in, even though I’d arrived after they were supposed to be closed.
It was a lovely slice of a Toronto that’s no longer here—if you love the city and its history (and great photography), the show’s been extended (by appointment only) to the end of July.
