If you park at the top - up behind the Research Station the trail head is just off of the parking lot. The trail immediately descends to the ravine, this will be the most difficult part of your hike. When we went the trails were VERY icy and the first section is steep, so ice cleats were essential. Once you reach the bottom of the ravine the walking is good. The trail follows and crosses a little stream in an area of lovely tall mature trees. It is a one-way trail so you walk in and then back out.
