If you park at the top - up behind the Research Station the trail head is just off of the parking lot. The trail immediately descends to the ravine, this will be the most difficult part of your hike. More so on your return trip. The trail is wide and well maintained, you'll cross three old bridges on the walk with lots of opportunities to play or explore Elderkin brook. There are four waterfalls towards the end of the trail. The trail ends but paths are present that will lead you up behind the Kent building.

A great place for a quiet walk in the woods. I was surprised to find this lovely park for a walk. When we went the trails were VERY icy and the first section is steep, so ice cleats were essential. Once you reach the bottom of the ravine the walking is good. The trail follows and crosses a little stream in an area of lovely tall mature trees. It is a one-way trail so you walk in and then back out. It is a wonderful place for a walk, and I look forward to coming back in the summer to see hat it is like them

Make sure to take the Dragon Quest using the QR code at the entrance. It was fun and exposed me to things that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. My only hesitation is that younger children may not be able to distinguish between fact and fantasy and so might go through life looking for bark dragons....
